First off I dont know if this were to put this post. I would like to know what you guys think.

I got the mirena birth control method. I have been on my period for 5 months and it finally stop a couple days ago but im still getting it taken out. My question is that I feel like something is moving inside me, like if a baby was moving or kicking, mostly when I lay down. I took 2 preganancy test with negitave results becuase I thought I had a misscarriage because of all the bleeding. So could the mirena went inside my cervix? I dont know what a string is suppose to feel like? I cant feel anything. I already called my docter and I am getting it removed. I would call and ask but I dont like to becuase they are kind of rude and dont gve much info over the phone. I just want to knw if anyone has dealt with this.

When I was 9 mos pregnant last Nov, I dicussed with my OB what methods of BC I could go on after my baby arrived. I asked about the Mirena and my DR said he wouldn't put it in any patient (although his practice partner would if I wanted it) because of how it works in women. He told me that the IUD Mirena does not contain any chemicals to release. It is just a device implanted in the uterus to irritate the womb so that when an egg is released it will not implant. My DR said that an egg can still become fertilized but most of the time will be passed through with a period and killed because of the irritating device. He is extremely pro life and feels that a BC should not allow an egg to be fertilized that it should prevent it because once an egg is fertilized life has already begun even in the 2-cell form. I am pro life too and I love babies so I chose the Nuva Ring instead. Although I am off of it now due to harsh cramping during my periods and not bleeding regularly. My hubby and I are trying for another baby since our first is now 7 mos old. Even though it is annoying to remember, I think the pill worked the best for me. I had very little weight gain and my periods were regular, 4-5 days in length with minimal cramping, and it kept acne away. I was on the pill from 16-22 and I got pregnant the very month after I stopped taking it (planned pregnancy).

I hope I helped at least some. Good luck!

I had the mirena put in a couple of months after my son was born. My period was nonstop for at least 5 months too. I eventually ended up taking it out too, but I never felt what you felt. Sometimes I would feel something sharp ever so slightly down there, just enough to let me know the mirena was still there, but thats it other than the bleeding. I never once felt the movement you described, I would definitely talk to the doctor about it, never happened to me.
