First time mom not really sure how or what I can do for my 6 month old who is very restless while sleeping. While sleeping he moves from one side to the other back and forth for about a 1/2 hour every morning around 3:a.m. What could be the problem. Thanks for any help.

I think they say even when you think your child is sleeping through the night they really aren't;they have just learned to get themselves back to sleep!I think tossing and turning is normal(we all do it).I wouldn't be too concerned if he's not waking up.

I agree--if he's not waking up, don't sweat it. My daughter started sleeping much more soundly when we started solid foods.... I wish you the best!

My daughter goes from one end of the crib to the other, it is hilarious to watch her scramble around in her sleep. And very normal as well for babies. Heck, even as adults we move A LOT in our sleep. As long as it isn't waking him up - if it is then he needs help learning to self soothe so he can put himself back to sleep, or learn to sleep through it.

My daughter was the same way up until 2 months. I became concerned at one point thinking she's not really sleeping at all, but it turns out that they're just "learning" how to sleep. My daughter would rapidly breathe, then move her head from side to side and make interesting noises. But she's 3 months now and she sleeps like the baby she is! Just a tip that worked the sleep magic for me: my daughter hated being swaddled at first, but I started doing it again at about 2 months and she sleeps at least 4-5 hours at a strech at night!
