Going Crazy

Any one experience this? My 22 month old will only go to sleep for his dad. No matter what I do he will not go to bed for me (and since I am the one home with him all the time, Im about to go crazy!) His dad can do the nightly routine and he goes down with out a peep. But if I try (doing the same routine) he just freaks out and starts to cry the second I get him in his crib. Nap time is the same way. He will not go to sleep. But if I go back in and hold him, he will fall asleep immediatly. I just don't get it!!!! This just started about a week ago for no apparent reason. I took him to the doctor, he has not ear ache, or other medical problems. Anyone experienced this????

Sounds what happens in our house (except she does this to DH), or at least used to, our 19 mth old daughter gives me problems now, she has figured out how to get out of her crib already. Anyway, I have found that with me, I am very stern with her and dont put up with her antics and crying so she just goes to sleep. But with DH, he gives in to her antics and picks her up when she cries, holds her till she falls asleep, etc. So she expects this from him and knows she can get away with it. If you can stand it, let your son cry for a few min. I know its hard, I couldnt do it with our first, 2nd time around is easier. ;-) He may cry for awhile, you can do a modified cry it out approach if needed. But go in after 5 min, dont pick him up though, hug him, tell him you love him and its time for night night. Then go back after another 5-10 etc, making the time a little longer. It is hard to hear them cry and call your name, I KNOW! But he will eventually pick up on it. Just do the best you can.
