Thrush

My baby has had thrush for awhile now she is 4 mths old and I am starting to get concerned. She isnt whining and it doesnt hinder her from eating but it is still a fungus. How can I get rid of it? Nystatin didnt work and neither did Gentian Violet.I sterilize her bottles,nipples and pacifiers. What can I do?

How many times have you given her the gentian violet? It took my baby at least 4 times before it worked. If you are that concerned though I would talk to her doctor.

i only gave it to her for about 1 week....when i used that it went away then came back a few days later..... i have talked to her doctor many times and she keeps giving me the nystatin....Do you recommend I use the gentian violet again??

I would. He was on nystatin for weeks and weeks and although it cleared it up a bit, it never fully got rid of it. After I took him back they said to use the gentian violet, and after a few times it went away. With that, I gave it to him every couple of days until it stopped coming back. What I would do is give it to her until it looks like it's clearing up, then if it comes back give her some more. That's what I did with my son.

I never used anything for my daughters thrush, and it went away just fine. She is 9mnths in thrush free
