My four month old had a check-up on Wednesday and they had to give him his booster shots. Since he's been home, he can't sleep through the night. He'll wake up in the middle of the night for no reason. I've tried changing him (but he's not wet) and giving him gas drops. Nothing seems to help. Could it be possible that he is having nightmares from the doctors and the shots? He'll wake up wailing, which is unlike him too. He's also very clingy during the daytime. He won't even let me put him down for a minute.

I'm guessing it's not his teeth coming in because I assume the doctor would have told us when she checked him out.

My doctor never told me when my son was teething.I brought him to his shots appointment then two or three days later he started doing what your son is doing (very clingy, waking up at night)I still had the check-up appointment to go to that week so I asked my doctor who said that it could be teething cause a child can be teething for a few weeks before you can even see the tooth. It's very common for kids to get teeth kinda younger than what the books say anyway, I'd check out the symptoms of teething and see if you might want to try treating it which ever way you decide.I just thought that you should consider teething even though your doctor never mentioned it.Good Luck

My daughter is clingy right after her shots but it doesn't last into the night or day. She takes a good nap once we're home and wakes up screaming. We think it's when the Tylenol is starting to wear off. She usually sleeps good that night though. Perhaps he is teething. Good luck!
