View Full Version : Need Fashion Advice
I'm currently pregnant with my second baby, and probably the last baby. I told myself I wasn't going to buy any maternity clothes for this pregnancy as I already have enough maternity clothes from my first pregnancy I can wear. However, I can't help but notice that there are sooooo many cute maternity clothes out there that I would like to wear even after my pregnancy. There are a lot of maternity clothes that are empire waist with a tie in the back to adjust to your tummy size. I noticed that a lot of non-maternity clothes have the same "design" as maternity clothes. I was thinking that I could still wear my maternity clothes even after pregnancy because I could adjust the fit around my stomach with the tie in the back so it wouldn't look loose and give away that it's a maternity shirt. Plus, it would actually help to create a waisteline. However, I'm a little fashion conscience and would like some opinions on whether or not it's okay to wear maternity clothes even after pregnancy.
I bought alot of clothes such as skirts and pants that just have an adjustable waste such as a tie or are made of a material I heard refered to as a travelers material (it doesn't wrinkle and is super strechy). I also found some super cute dresses made of this material. most of the things I bought aren't maternity and I do plan to wear them after baby. most of the shirts I bought are maternity though because alot of the regular shirts aren't long enough to cover the belly and if you get a larger size it just doesn't look or feel right around the arms or neck lines. I don't know where you're at but where I live there are a few different gently used clothing stores that have a lot of maternity stuff that looks brand new and in fact some of it is ( complete with tags). I also wear my t shirts I had before pregnancy. they're longer, form fitting but strechy and really soft. I think I got them from old navy. hope this was helpful!
