when is it time

hello all....question when is the appropriate age to start potty training????
I have a 15mth old little boy and I'm not sure if he is still too young grasp the concept or should trying right now a good idea?

It kind of depends on what you expect out of the process. We waited with our son until he was 2 1/2 and it only took about 5 days to have him daytime trained, and another 2 weeks for nighttime training. If you start at 15 months, the process is likely to take a much longer time. Some of the things to look for before you start potty training:

-is he going at regular times throughout the day?
-does he tell you when he has a wet/dirty diaper?
-can he communicate the need to go (either verbally or with signs)?
-has he shown interest in the potty?
-can he walk?

I always took my cues from the kids themselves. As soon as I saw some interest that they wanted to try, I began. 15 months is pretty early.
