my four years old girl wants me to sleep beside her in her twin bed. I have to pretend that I am asleep besides her until she falls asleep and then escape to my bed with my husband. Everytime she wakes up she cries and she is sad and she says " I want you to sleep with me and to stay with me in my room" Her little brother (12 months) sleeps in his crib next to her, but still, she wants ME to sleep besides her all night....
Please help!

We had the same problem too. We had a talk with our son and told him he is a big boy and will sleep by himself. He would come down at all hours to wake us up and we would just walk him back to his room and place him in bed. I know it is hard, but you can't give in. It took a good month for him to adjust and now we have no issues.

This is a learned behavior and needs to be broken. Read "Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child". You have to walk her right back to her bed every single time she does this, with no hugging, chit chat or the like. If there's no positive in it for her, she will learn not to do it. It will be exhausting, but eventually she will learn. Good luck!
