My wife just gave birth to a newborn girl (Kyra) and our 14 mo baby girl (Michaela)
just loves kyra so much which is great, although mayabee too much when my wife Sarah is holding or breast feeding Kyra, Michaela wants to climb up on to Sarah and over Kyra usually to kiss or pet Kyra. It is cute but Micahela put aher weight on the little one and when try too keep her from on top Kyra she melts down. I picked up Michaela and took her to the playroom to keep her occupied, and that worked great. I can only see the problems get greater as I am on vacation as of now and normally work alot. Sarah will be home with the two girls alone. We could certainly use some help on how to modify Michaela's desire to be so helpful e.t.c.

My daughter was way too helpful after my son was born too!
We moved things like the pacifiers, burp clothes, blankets, toys, etc to an area where she could reach, so she could have a "job" to get mommy somthing if the baby needed it (just a disclaimer: she got the pacifier to stick in the baby's mouth ALL the time, whether needed or not, so we really had to watch her!!) Also, we got one of those really real looking baby dolls that you can fee and change, etc. so she could be a "mommy" too! Whenever she got too helpful, I always suggested that her baby was crying, hungry, wet, etc and she should show my how to help her baby.
She'll also need some extra one on one attention, but it sounds lilke you were already taking care of that one!

Good luck!
