Weight limit for infant car seat?

Does anyone know what the weight limit is for the Chicco Keyfit Infant Car Seat? I have a 9 month old that weighs about 22 pounds but he's getting a bit too big for his car seat. I just read that most infant car seats have a weight limit of 22-30 pounds depending on the brand, but my husband decided he didn't need an instruction manual for our car seat so I was hoping somebody had the same one and could tell me. Also, when he outgrows the infant car seat does he go into a convertible car seat or a forward facing car seat?

Thanks! I tried going to that website yesterday but for some reason the instruction manual wasn't coming up, but it was working today. In case anybody needs to know, the weight limit is 22 pounds, so we're gonna have to go get a new car seat! Anybody know a good convertible car seat that's not too expensive?
