Response to Puberty Article

I just read the article on puberty and found much of the info funny and informative. However, I had an issue with the section addressing masturbation which was limited in focus to boys. Please. How 1950's can we be? Girls are sexual beings, just like boys.

I recently saw a great book for teen girls on the news here in New Orleans. It was called, from sneakers & jeans: the teen girls' guide to getting around. The author of the book is a young health educator with a lot of experience and she speaks to teen girls in the community all the time. Right now she is putting together a teen girl health fair for the area and when I went to her website, I found the book excerpt to be very informative.

I know her first name is Candi and her website is www.goodforyourself.com. Go there and read what she has written, because I think it will really help any young girls going into puberty and the ones already there. She opens the book by talking about self worth and having a good attitude over being so pretty and perfect. And she is a health educator by education so talks about the personal health things without sounding like a school nurse or adult.

It's one that I'm ordering for my granddaughters birthday.
