I have heard from a couple friends that Similac formula gave their babies bad gas. Switching to Good Start resolved the issue. Does anyone else have a similar experience or any information to share?

Regular Similac gave my son diahrea so we switched to Similac Sensitive. In my opinion it's best to stick with the same brand if you need to switch. Then if that doesn't work switch to a different brand.

My baby didn't do well with the regular similac it hurt his tummy. So they switched him to soy similac and he did great on that. He didn't have any problems. We had to do similac though cause at the time we were on wic and that's the brand they used. I have actually considered trying good start with my next because I talked to some people that said it was good and cheaper than most.

My son didn't do well with similac and wouldn't really take it either. When he was really young, the pediatrician changed his formula a few times, we ended up just trying good start and he did fine with it. As a bonus, it is considerably cheaper than the other formulas.

I had started with breastfeeding for the first 3 months, but switched to formula because my daughter never seemed satisfied, and was constanly spitting up foul smelling stuff. So I used Similac Sensitive, because it was a free sample I had received and the only formula in the house. My daughter seemed to like it, but I did notice she was still spitting up alot. Other than that she seemed fine. But due to the price, I switched to Parent's Choice Sensitivity. Same thing, but cheaper. I think the Similac was 23 or 25 dollars, and the PC is 15 dollars, and you get 2 oz more! The similac was about 23 oz, and PC is 25 oz. Since then, she rarely spits up, and doesnt seem gassy! I dont know what made the difference but hey, if it works Im not questioning it :)

JWills, I use the Parent's choise sensitivity too, it is a lot cheaper and i compared the two cans of formula it IS the same thing pretty much! And my baby loves it. When she was a newborn we used Good Start with natural cultures for easy digestion, but the parents choice seemed to be just as good!

When my son was an infant, we went through a plethora of different formulas starting with the Similacs and the Enfamils. He landed up doing the best with Good Start and Parent's Choice. He had a lot less gas and spit up much less with those. And as it's been said earlier, the bonus was that Good Start is less expensive than Similac or Enfamil, and Parent's Choice was cheaper than all of them.
