I am marrying my fiance' in 7 days. We found out two days ago that there is about a 90% chance that she is Pregnant, which is awesome. Im so incredibly happy I dont really know what to do. However the downside if this story is that in two months time I am leaving for Basic. Therefore I am going to be missing most if not all of the pregnancy. Im fortunate enough that the insurance will pick up as soon as I leave, and I want to do as much as I can for her while im here. I was just wondering if anyone had any tips or advice for me while im in basic and a-school. I want to do everything for her, however I just simply cant. Any advice at all on how I can help her or how I can deal with being away from her would be great, thanks.

Congrats! Don't worry too much. Basic is not that long, and if your a-school is more than 12weeks(i think dont quote me on that number) then the Navy will pay to move your wife to where you are. And if it isn't long enough, you will have more freedom than you think in a-school. you will be able to sneak away for a weekend or 2 to see her. As far as basic....letters will help you through. You don't get many phone calls (unless you have a really cool RDC) but tons of mail. Just remember that basic is nothing but a mind game and they are TRYING to make you quit...so dont give in! stick with it and you will see your wife in no time!! Use her as motivation to get through it... GOOD LUCK!!!
