My daugther is 18months old and had never until now been crying when it is time to eat...She just cries with food in her mouth and it is driving me and my wife crazy...when she was younger she was a machine when it came to eating and now no matter what kind of meal we give her she cries the entire time, hits at us or jerks her head back and forth...please someone help

I have been searching the web trying to figure it out. My son is 16 months and is a bottomless pit. Ever since he was introduced to table foods, feeding him has come with a bit of anxiety, and is only getting worse. At first, he would just freak if he couldn't see the plate or bowl his food was in. I tried to hide the bowl because once he noticed that it was almost empty, he would throw a fit and it was difficult to finish the meal. I also have to cut him off because I have yet to discover when he is actually full. No matter how much I feed him, he will scream when the food is gone. Lately, he will look at his plate, and even though it is full or half full, still scream in between spoonfuls, sometimes pushing me away, and almost always with real tears. At first, I thought it was because he was teething. But now I am not so sure. He has also been experiencing bouts of diarrhea the last two months. Right now it is just really smelly gas. He is my fourth child and I have never had this type of problem with any of the other children. And he is normally a very happy baby, plays and sleeps well. Anyone out there got any ideas?

My best guess is the molars. Many kids do get diarhea while teething. Do they have 16 teeth total? If not that's, probably it. Try soft foods that don't require chewing.
