We have a friend of the family who's daughter was just diagnoised with bone cancer. She is up at the hospital right now getting treatment. They gave us a mailing address to send cards or mail. I want to send a little care package. Any ideas. She is seventeen years old and very down to earth. I just wanted to send something up to say we are thinking of her, while cheering her up for the moment. I know she loves hats... now that her hair is gone, but I want to send somthing special. Please help. Thank you.

when I was that age I used to love those "teeny bopper"magazines like seventeen or teen vogue. These things might help to take her mind off of the situation for a bit! I wish you and your friends alot of courage and strenght with the fight!

When I was in h.s. (10 years ago now!) I was so into the hippie thing. Maybe she would like some funky colored bandanas to put on her head? I also loved stringing beads for necklaces and bracelets/anklets at that time.

What about a journal? It might be a nice way for her to record some of her thoughts. You could alway put some of those fun colored gel pens with it!?

You said she likes hats so maybe you could find a cute hat turn it upside down and make it into a gift basket fill it with some magazines, good smelling lotions, a stuffed bear perhaps, a journal and all the other wonderful tips listed above.
By the way thanks for posting this
My hair is extremely long along with my daughters we wanted to donate to lock of love in a couple of months when my daughters hair is long enough to donate she’s only two and need about two more inches before her hair is long enough it will be her first hair cut I was thinking about chickening out as I love my long hair but you've reminded me that there could be things far worse than having short hair.
