I need help....

I was at the grocery store last night and at 26/29 wks (don't laugh I can't ever remember) I'm really poking out there, it looks like I have a beachball under my shirt I stick straight out. But any ways our cashier was this young girl (I say young but she only looked young, I only look like I'm about 16) and she's asking me when I'm due and if it's a girl, and then she gives me this really pitiful look (I'm sure we all have the same look when we ask this) and she asks me " Does the morning sickness EVER end?" I told her yes and what she could do to help it. When we got home from the stor I realized I forgot somethings and we went back so I brought her some Peppermint Tea to help with her afternoon morning sickness. She was very happy with it.

But my question here is, I don't have any mommy friends. NONE all of my friends are single and don't have any kids. My sister has a son and is preg with her second and shes due in oct. but her and I don't speak. Long story behind that (she's something of a pathalogical liar and more or less an all around mooch/bum/@#%$ -up) we'll save that for another thread. But anyways, would it be weird of me to ask the cashier, her name is Ashley, if she wants to hang out the next time I see her? My thought here is would she be asking me questions about morning sickness if she had someone else to ask? And maybe we can hang out now so that when she has her baby she has a mommy friend too?

Tell me I'm not going crazy....I'm just starved for some prego company, or at least Mom company.....

Thanks for reading my babble

I wouldn't think you were weird. I wish another pregnant woman would have tried to be my friends. I was hoping for that from our birthing classes but everyone was so much younger than me.

Approaching her to make friends is a good way to establish play dates and believe me, I wish we had someone to do play dates with.

Go for it! I bet you make a really cool new friend and so does your baby. :)

There is nothing weird about making friends. I truly wish MORE women were friendly to one another especially while we're pregnant.

I don't think you are weird at all!! I would assume she probably would like the company too since she is asking a total stranger m/s rememdies!!!:)

I agree, definitely not wierd. There are just certain things that only another expecting mom can relate too. I was there with the no pregnant friends, but I was able to make some friends in my lamaze group and new mom support group....look for those types of things too, they are a great way to find someone who will also have a baby the same age as yours.

My husband was a great listener, and my mom and aunts offered great advice....but sometimes you just need someone who also threw up there chips after lunch to undertsand what you really mean.
