I want my daughter to have a set of wood blocks with the alphabet when she gets older, but I want to paint them myself, so could someone let me know what is on each side?

I think I've seen some un-painted ones. I found these online: http://www.downtoearthtoys.com/item_319/Natural-ABC-Blocks.htm

But I could have sworn I saw some at a craft store like JoAnn's or Michael's.

I know this isn't quite what you're looking for, but have you seen the Kaplan blocks? They're unpainted, sort of long flat blocks. We got ours at a museum, can't find a link online, but they are great and all kids love them. They'd be so cute painted!
