ugggg. Don't you hate it when they do that to you? We had similar difficulties with our now 10 month old. She would go to bed at 7pm wake up at 11pm and then again between 4 and 5 am. I was about to go nuts because it felt like just as I was getting to sleep she was waking up. After a little thinking and going over her schedule I realized she was getting too much sleep during the day. So what dh and I decided to do was cut out afternoon naps. Emilee gets put down for a nap between 9 and 10 am, sleeps for about 3 hours then is up for the rest of the day until bedtime. Now her nighttime wake ups are over. She's sleeping from 7pm until atleast 6am and I'm a very happy mommy.
So maybe if you cut out an afternoon nap he'll sleep through the night again for you. Good luck.

My son is 8months old too, and he's been sleeping through the night since he was 2 months old. The thing that made him sleep was putting him in his own crib, and putting him on his tummy. At 8 months he can be on his stomach cause he can flip around. My peditrician said it's fine. Although at 2months they said it wasn't but hey when I was growing up my parents HAD to put me on my tummy. They change the rules every year! So if he sleeps on his back, try that.
Also, try not to rush in there right away. Give him like ten minutes and see if he'll fall back asleep on his own.

I know exactly how you feel my daughter who is 7 months has never slept through the night. She is still in our bed and I have been trying to get her used to her crib. So during the day she has her naps in there but come 8:00 she will have nothing to do with it. The thing is her crib is in our room since we have no other rooms available in the house. My daughter (5) and my son (3) have the other two rooms. So I was thinking of putting my two older kids together in a room for a few months. But I don't want my son to resent his baby sister if I give his room to her. And other wise if we keep her crib in our room I'm not quite sure how you do it. We can stay out in the living room until she finally goes to sleep but she wil wake up in 2 hours and then what do we do when were trying to sleep. We would have no door between us and she would be able to see us laying there which would just make her more furious. I don't know if that made sense! I just have no idea what to do either! I would also gladly take suggestions!

My son now 10 months went through the same thing! It could be teething cause they say they can suffer from pain up to a month prior to seeing the tooth.I found that it happened when it was about that time for a growth spurt and my son was often hungry! But if you said he doesn't want anything it may be teething or by the sound of this post a phase.Good Luck!I'm sure it will pass soon!

If you can put your two older kids in the same room I would! my son slept ALOT better when he was in his own room and crib.I hear him every once in awhile waking up but i think cause there is nothing to look at he just falls back asleep or he turns on his pooh projector and falls asleep to that!I know a family that had the same "resent younger sibling" so she made it sound like a really awesome thing to share a room (it's like sllepovers every night) and the daughter that moved rooms thought it was really cool.Good Luck!

My son is 15mos old and I still can't get him to sleep through the night. He is getting better and will go 7-8hrs before waking up, but it seems like once he wakes up I can't get him back in his crib. He wants to be held for the rest of the night. Bringing him into our bed is not an option because we only have a full size bed and barely enough room for my hubby(who sleeps diagonally) and I. He has never slept through the night and let me tell you I am exhausted. I don't have any advice, but lots of empathy for you.
I keep tellilng myself that when his last 5 teeth come in maybe it will get better since teething has caused us problems since it started at 5mos. They say teething is supposed to get easier after the first tooth, but it hasn't for us. Molars coming in is miserable has been miserable for him. He has one more molar and four others between the front teeth and molars(pointy ones)left to come in.
I hope you can find a solution that works for you and him soon. I know sleep deprivation is brutal.
