I am a mom of an 18mo old boy, but my husband and I have been TTC again. Last time it took 3 rounds of Clomid and now I am on my 3 round. But I remember being on this Infertility board in 06 and other women going through this had some tips and tricks and I remember doing them but I can't remember what they were. Anybody have any advice?

No, I am not doing IUI, what is it? There were some tips like some kind of cough syrup, something about yams...I just can't remember. I have also heard to have intercourse every other day. Why is that? I have also heard to do it everyday. What did your Dr say as to why? You would think after going through this 2 years ago I would still remember some things...

oh it's a procedure that puts the sperm at the egg which they almost always do while on Clomid, cause Clomid makes negative changes to your body for getting pregnant so it's helping the sperm get to the egg as clomid makes that part harder for the sperm.
ya they say robitusom (not sure of spelling) is suppose to help with the cervical mucus which is changed from Clomid.
Every 2nd day as the sperm need to replenish, if you do "it" too much it never fully replenishes.
This is just what my fertility doc told me.
**i have heard from more than one person that the robitussin works. that if u are ovulating too much or something along those lines that it will help thin the mucus...**

I have never heard of Clomid making neg changes to you body. Interesting I would like to know more if anyone knows more.
I think I ovulated yesterday morning which is weird because that was day 7 of my cycle. So maybe I ovulate early and that is why it is taking longer to get preg. What day of your cycle are you on?
It makes since to wait every other day. But somewhere I read that sperm that is coming out now was made months ago. I just read that somewhere on the internet last month. But I have also heard to do it every other day. It might have been from my OB/GYN in 2006.

My OBGYN prescribed it over 2 yrs ago (because I have PCOS) and again this time. He prob told me the risks and side effects 2 years ago. We he asked if I remembered I said I did. But after thinking about everything all I really remember is the risk of multiples.
Last time we tried for 9 monthes before we tried clomid and this time just 3 months before we tried clomid.
I usually take OPK but this time I was out since I was expecting to ovulate around the 13th or so. I am going to buy some today and start again. Last month I used 2 different tests and one test said I never ovulated and one test said I ovulated for 5 days.
Any information on side effects (other than what is on the medicine sheet) and risks would be appreciated.
How are things going for you?

I have a question... I have PCOS and conceived my 1st child with Chlomid. My son is now 8 months old and i have started my period for the first time since his birth and we have decided to try and and get pregnant again, but i am still breastfeeding.
Should I bother trying to get pregnant now, or should i just wait until he is weaned and I go back on the medicine that helps with the PCOS?

I say start trying now..just don't be too disappointed if it doesn't happen immedaitely b/c you are breastfeeding & you may have to get back on clomid!! I know ALOT of people who did get prego while breastfeeding though!! Good Luck & let the fun begin!!! :)

thanks for the advice. Im gonna chart this cycle to see how many days it lasts then will go from there. I hope to get pregnant on my own this time, but I am pretty sure I will have to go on Chlomid again since i already know I dont ovulate (at least I didn't previously). MY plan is to go back on the PCOS medications when I am done breastfeeding and then if I am not pregnant within 3 months go back on the chlomid. But that doesn't mean it is God's plan. I can only pray He agrees with me, lol.

I did know about cutting starchy foods and carbs, but I don't eat hardly any bread and cutting carbs didn't work for me. My friend however has great weightloss results from cutting carbs. When you say "rounds" with Chlomid, how long do you consider a round. Is it one month of taking it, or is taking it for 3months a round?

I am one of those people that didn't have many side effects. However, I realized it was much better to take it at night because it seemed to help with the hot flashes. Hope that helps a little!
