i'm not saying being vegan is a bad thing but when your a vegan and you preach to every one that thats the way to eat, its a bad thing. if you want to be vegan thats all fine and dandy for you, but studies have shown that children need the protiend and nutrition from animal meat and animal products. being vegan doesn't necessarily make you healthier, you lose needed proteins. i will feed my daughter a well balanced diet with meats and veggies and if she so chooses to take the path of a vegetarian or vegan when she is older, i will support her but for now i know what is best.
i'm not trying to start a fight, i'm just saying its bad to preach to people that vegan is the only way. and vise versa.

I agree with you completely, however the whole vegan debate started when some nut job with too much time on her hands created more than one profile and was talking crazy stuff. She just wanted to stir up trouble and has since been banned. I love meat. I just saw some olive garden commercial for some new shrimp meal and some chicken meal and it looks so good!

Oh no, was someone stirring up drama? I would have thought these boards would be more drama free :(

I am a vegetarian/vegan but I dont ever try to talk people into being like me. I feed my son (14 months) well balanced meals... he loves meat! What works best for me and my life doesnt or couldnt work for other people.

Yeah, it was Echo (aka Twins_Twins and Addys_Mum) that started that stupid argument. And she isn't vegan, it was only for attention on a thread. The psycho was removed by the administrator, but I'm sure she's already back under some other screen name. In fact, I have my suspicions on one new member already, but oh well. Don't really care.

I was thinking the same thing, but I guess the trolls are always going to be here anyway as long as they have another email address!!!

i was thinking that same thing the other day because i see these completely outrageous posts of just insane random circumstance by new people, only one post on their numbers, and they never reply back... =/
btw. being a vegan/veggie person is way too damn expensive. plus it's too much to think about, what's in the food anyways. BUT - veggie BLT's are the best! omg, how do they make their veggie bacon taste better than bacon??

me and my husband are totally oppisites too! I eat all vegetables and fruits... no meat, seafood, or egges. My husband eats maybe a handful of veggies, he definitely wouldnt touch luttice or things like that but he will eat meat out there! He is a big time hunter so he kills deer, rabbit, frog, duck... etc he will eat anything! lol When we first met I wouldnt even touch meat to cook it but now Im used to it so depending on what it is I will touch it. If its some nasty bloody thing I am not touching that... I use tongs! lol when I cook dinner usually I will make something for him with meat and mine without meat if thats not possible I just make myself something different. My son 14 months usually eats what his daddy eats. He has even tasted frog legs before!

oh i see now. thanks for clearing that up for me. i guess its easier now cause there are so many vegitarian and vegans out there that there are recipes for meatless meals. thats so cool that you guys can work that out. my fiance loves to cook as well, i honestly think his cooking is much tastier than mine. is it just me or do guys make better cooks?
