The Business of Being Born
I just watched this documentary and agree with most of what they have to say about hospital births with my son I had a natural birth and was told by the nurses that I should just have an Epidural, I should just get it over with because I would end up getting one anyway! My daughter was a different story she was induced and they used potocien for this and it went just like they said in the movie but the other way potocian then great pain then epidural. I hated not being able to move after the birth of my daughter I kept saying I'm going to fall out of bed and drop her why are the beds so small? My legs kept falling off the bed I felt like I was a human slinky. So I was scared to hold her as much as I had my son until the drugs wore off.
Anyways this is a really good documentary for women pregnant or not it is a must see! And if you have Netflixs you can put it in your queue or watch it online for free with browse instant
About the Movie....
Director Abby Epstein's controversial documentary takes a hard look at America's maternity care system, juxtaposing hospital deliveries against the growing popularity of at-home, natural childbirths that many expectant parents are now opting for. Former talk show host Ricki Lake was inspired to produce this compelling exposé after a dissatisfying birthing experience with her first child left her with many unanswered questions.
After or even before watching this documentary I'd love to hear (as would so many expecting Mom's on this forum about your birthing experience good or bad lets talk birth after all its not a dirty word its life.
