I am afraid that my 8 1/2 old will not crawl. I know that a lot of babies don't crawl but my baby doesn't even like to be on her stomach. When i put her on her stomach, she'll push her head up or she'll get on her knees but like 5 seconds later she rolls over and is wanting to sit up. She still can't sit up on her own. I have to pull her up. she is my first child so I don't know if I'm just being paranoid or if there is actually something wrong with her. I'm just so worried and I don't to talk to my husband about it because he already worries enough about her. He doesn't need another thing added to it. I just need some help or advise that is from someone other than my parents or my friends that are just trying to make me fell better. I love them but I need more. Please someone help me!!!

It's easy to worry about your first child, but at some point, you do realize that the tired saying of every child develops at different rates is actually true. As long as the pediatrician thinks your daughter is fine, I wouldn't worry about it. Our pediatrician said that kids tend to even out by kindergarten. Which probably seems pretty far away right now, but it really isn't.
Our first daughter also didn't like being on her stomach. She could sit by herself at 6 months, but didn't crawl until 9 1/2 months. Another friend's child couldn't sit by herself until close to a year and didn't crawl until some time after turning 1. Of course, my other friend's baby crawled at 6 months and walked at 9 months. Go figure.

Our daughter took forever to start crawling, I'd say eight months or so. And like yours, she had no interest in being on her stomach. She was more interested in trying to stand up by grabbing things and holding onto the couch. What we did was spread a big blanket on the floor and sit her in the middle (she didn't mind sitting up). We'd take all of her favorite toys that she liked and place them in the four corners of the blanket. I'd lay down with her, take on of the toys and place it just out of her reach (After i put her on her stomach) at first she would just get upset and fuss and we'd have to pick her up. But eventually, i'd say withing the first week, she started to reach for things, then slowly but surely, it turned into crawling. Now she's a speed demon and will crawl off in a moments notice for things. It just takes time, but the more you work with her, the more she'll grow accustomed to being on her stomach, and then eventually, crawling.
