When did you introduce fish? Which kinds did you try first?

I introduced fish as soon as my daughter made it to stage 3 baby foods and I was ready to start introducing her to real foods (not pureed ones). Fish are so nutritious, although moderation is strongly advised. I started with salmon flaked into a bowl of peas and carrots, or mixed in with sweet potatoes that were freshly steamed. I always limited her fish intake to twice a week, and I tried to always use fresh fish. I have stayed away from fish high in mercury - pretty much the same ones the dr told me to stay away from during my pregnancy, although she loves tuna so she gets that from time to time.

My 2 1/2 yr. old likes breaded fish sticks. I've gotten her to try some things she normally wouldn't be interested in by mixing it with rice. She loves rice so I'll mix it with chicken/ground beef/veggies etc. So maybe you could mix the fish with rice. (jasmine rice and brown rice are our favorites:))
