Well I have always thought it was very disturbing when people had a child and they didn't have a name picked out I thought "you've had nine months to pick a name whats your problem" when I was pregnant with my first we didn't know the sex we had names picked out for both when baby arrived it was a girl and our little madison jane was now a part of the world. Well here I am 6 1/2 months pregnant with another little girl and daddy and I cannot agree on a name he likes classic names and I like names that are a little more uncommon. I don't want her to be one of the eight jessica's or megan's in her school. (my name was common when I was in school and I hated it) So I am looking for some names that are a little more uncommon any ideas???

I'm with you - I like names that are just a tad uncommon - not TOTALLY out there, but not in the top 25 or 50! I don't know exactly what you're looking for, but I will tell you a few of the names that I like (today, anyways LOL) I just have to get DH's ok when we do conceive LOL - he likes fairly standard names as well...
Aubrey; Lorelai; Tabitha; Tatum; Bethany; Juliet; Kendall; Kiera; Mikayla; Carrington; Scarlett.
Just a few ideas - hope they get you started :D GOOD LUCK!!!

Go to goggle (or what ever search engine you use) and type in “social security popular baby names” You will get the social security web page and you can look at all the names from the American census for 2007 in order of popularity. Scroll down the page and pick 2007 for the year and change top 20 names to top 1000 names. When you get to the list scroll down to the bottom and start with name 1000 and go up until you find something you like. You know the farther down it is the less common it is. Again from the perspective of someone who does recordkeeping, pick an uncommon name but please, please, please spell it correctly. Or at least don’t sigh and role your eyes every time a clerk asks you to spell it for them.

Oh I just thought of something else on the popular name list. Type in another year like 1901 and get a completely different list of names not popular at all now but certainly more traditional like your husband would like.

Well we finally decided on a name that I can live with Chloe Anellia Its not my first pick but I'm okay with it. I'm still in love with the name Hope but daddys not so fond. Maybe I can change his mind at the last min.

You may have chosen a name and your little girl may be born already...but I named my daughter Melinda Paige...for the same reason..I wanted something old fashioned with a contemporary twist!
