Amniocentesis

I am getting an amnio tomorrow and I am nervous. I don't know anyone that's ever gotten one and I want to know what to expect? Does it hurt???

It wasn't the most pleasant thing ever. But it hurt much less than I had anticipated. And it was quick. So you can get through it!
Good luck! What are they testing for? Lung development? Meconium?
My fluid came out yucky green- meconium!

They are testing for Down Syndrome. :(

It wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be at all! Hurt a little more than getting blood drawn and I didn't check out the needle until after! Thanks for the advice.
