Okay, so I am a mother to a 4 year old names Kaylee Rose who is my world. We just found out I am pregnant again (due in oct 09) and even though it is still very early, we are trying to pick out some names. The ones I like, HE hates, and the ones he likes I hate!! Please help!!!
If its a girl we like:
Sydney
Isabella
Emma
(i know, very common, but they are cute!)
But for a boy, we are stuck!! The only one we like is Jace. (and everyone we told, hates it!) What do you think?? Please help!! We are trying to find a boy name that starts with a "J" for family reasons, but at this point, anything that catches our eye will work!!
Thanks!;)

We have two boys, and always thought parents of girls had it easier. Girls are using so many names now that used to be boy names, but a boy doesn't wear a girl's name quite so well. :-)
I know it seems like the most important decision in the world at the time, but I've since realized how kids just grow into their names, whatever you choose. If it's really leading to battles with your husband, maybe you could let him choose. Moms end up getting to make a lot more of the decisions than dads as our kids grow up, because we're usually the ones taking care of them all day. Dad would feel really honored to have a little more say in this one.
If I was looking for a J boy name, I like Jaden. You could go with something traditional too - John, James, etc. Those once common names can be rare these days. Have fun with your name hunting, and if you find something you both like, don't worry what anybody else thinks!

My kids are Iris Leia and Maximos Alexander and I love the rare finds. For boy J's I personally prefer Jericho or Jersey. Good Luck!

I know! Picking names is pretty excruciating! Especially when you and your hubby don't agree. We started the negotiation process a couple years before we got pregnant. I know a sweet little boy named Jayce. I like it.
I just plain wouldn't tell other people until the baby is born. It gets pretty overwhelming when everyone and their dog has an opinion. :)
My mom hated Allison. Could I really name my daughter (her granddaughter) something my mom despised so much?

Oooh I love the name Kaylee -- it's DEF on my short list when I conceive (though I think we'll spell it Kayleigh LOL). I like Sydney too, just doesn't work with my last name :( Oh well...
First of all, DH and I like some names that some others don't...and I agree with craftyashley, I think I'm just not gonna tell when I'm pregnant. It would be heartbreaking to tell my mom or my husband's grandmother or whomever else, that we were going to name our baby X, Y or Z, just to have them tell us how much they HATE it...ugh!
Jace is a pretty cool name, I like it! Some other J names that I like are Jacob, Justin and Jasper (my hubby HATES Jasper LOL, so that one's out for me)!
Like K4satin said, if you and your hubby like it, go for it -- you're the ones that are going to be saying the 25 million times a day for the next 18 years :D Good luck!!
