I was just wondering if any other moms on here experienced the condition IUGR while pregnant. I found out I did within an hour of my emergancy c-section with my son. He was full term and 5lbs 4oz. It's Intrauterine Growth Restriction --"Intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR) is a term used to describe a condition in which the fetus is smaller than expected for the number of weeks of pregnancy. Another term for IUGR is fetal growth restriction. Newborn babies with IUGR are often described as small for gestational age (SGA).

A fetus with IUGR often has an estimated fetal weight less than the 10th percentile. This means that the fetus weighs less than 90 percent of all other fetuses of the same gestational age. A fetus with IUGR also may be born at term (after 37 weeks of pregnancy) or prematurely (before 37 weeks)."

Ya so my son had that and he's almost 8 months old and is still wearing size 3mon clothes. He wore preemies til he was 3 months old and so on and so forth.. I'm just wondering if any other moms have experienced this. I'd like to know if my son is ever going to be a "normal size". I just worry for him. I mean he's healthy and stuff but he's just so tiny. It's alot easier for me when it comes to carrying him around but I just don't want him to be 18 and 4'11 ya know?

It may not be totally the same but I had twins and delivered 4 wks early because one of the girls was not growing anymore (they found out that the cord on her side only had a small opening so she was not getting fed very well). So they were really small at birth; one was 4' 8 1/2", the other was 3' 14 1/4". I was concerned about them staying small but they are already up to normal size (they are 18 months now).
