I am a man. I know how to cook 2 things... meat on a grill and corn (from a can or frozen, I am flexible). However, as a man and as most men, I don't care for elaborate meals. Just some Tuna with Mayo, a can of beans cold, a pizza ordered from Dominos... yes, if men were responsible for the household chore of cooking we could eliminate most kitchen appliances including a stove and oven. (We still need a microwave).

There, insight into the male mind. Sure, if we 'had' too, we could cook. But what kind of message would that send? Soon men everywhere would be expected to come home at the end of the day and get the meal on the table and try to make it balanced so the kids get fiber, nutrients and variety.

Of course I kid (or and I a kid??). We at www.daddysurvivalguide.com try to get men to move in baby steps into the 21st century... but remember we have 21 centuries of being men to overcome.

My favorite recipe can be found on the back of French's dried onions. A simple green bean caserole (sp?) with a can of condensed mushroom soup, a package of frozen green beans and some dried onions. Mix generously and bake for 30 minutes. Top with french's dried onions. Service with meat ;)

Cheers - Alex Resident Dad

Oh, please post your favorite recipe, perhaps I will post it to my site ;)

I like the simplicity of green bean casserole, too. And my family loves it, always appreciates it.

As for favorite recipes, simple is better. Spaghetti, baked pork chops, grilled chicken, baked fish...

Our family fave is "sweet and sour meatballs(suan tien nui....)" from allrecipes.com. It is NOT the red sweet and sour sauce in the restaurants. It is meatballs with vinegar and pineapple. Allrecipes has a featured recipe for the day. Its easy to incorporate your favorite ingredients. Gives me great ideas!
