My little girl loves to chew on her tooth brush but its a no go on actually brushing her teeth. She's almost got a mouthful so what do I do?

Until she knows how to spit you need to be using special toddler toothpaste that is okay for er to swallow. I think oralB makes that little bear toothpaste that we used. We had a little thing that I slipped over my finger with bristles on it that I used to brush my sons teeth.

We used the fingertip tooth brush on our girls until they started to bite the finger that was in their mouth. After that we went and picked up a toddler sized tooth brush and toddler paste. It took a little work but we finally found a routine that worked for us so that they (especially Emilee) wouldn't just chew on the toothbrush. I sit on the toilet, hold her on my lap and gently hold her head against my shoulder. As I'm brushing I sing a silly song I made up about brushing teeth. When I'm all done, I put her down, rinse her tooth brush and let her do it herself for a little while. We are too the point now that I don't have to hold her head up and she's really enjoying it. It'll take a lot of persistence and ingenuity and you may have to try multiple things, but you'll be able to do it without difficulty soon enough. Good luck.
