I was surprised to see the vehement anti-youtube-posting responses... and even the pro-youtubers responses seemed to be missing one element: Users can set privacy settings so that only friends and family can watch their videos.
I guess I get defensive when some folks criticize me for uploading to Youtube (Facebook is another great site, and I see that MySpace is also a forum). Looks like they mostly think I'm sending my kids out into the cyberworld unchecked!

You can also set it so that no comments can be left, too. I guess I don't worry about uploading quick videos if I don't put any information with the video that can give anyone a clue as to who is in it, or where they are. I send a link to family & friends, and people can see the little ones toddling around. I think it's great.

I really don't see the problem with YouTube. The main argument was "perverts". Obviously these parents aren't aware of what lgFleming pointed out about the privacy settings. Therefor, why are they commenting about something they don't know everything about. Do research before stating an opinion.
