My bundle of joy costs a bundle of cash. Please don’t take this wrong – lack of sleep might cause me to sound cranky, I just wanted to get ideas about how everyone is saving money pre-post birth.
Here's my top 5+ brilliant ideas!
A few months ago I prepared and changed the cable package (no premium channels)
Last year we purchased a pellet stove for better more efficient heating, (the oil thing)
Sigh .. I gave up my Blackberry data package, no more special ringtones – oh best tip is use free directory assistance 800Free411, no more itunes downloads now, use coupons for everything, plan to breast feed forever ; )
Ok everyone give up their secrets,
Ayrin

coupons, breastfeed, cheap diapers, cloth diapers, thrift stores, garage sales, no name brands, bulk, homeschool
I have 3 kids ages 1,3,6
I also work at home with a wonderful no selling, no stocking, no parties 100% risk free and supports living green company.
My baby's stay with me all day!
Hope this helps

I'm the single mother of a 18 month old - and we're on a realistic budget! Is it easy? Not at all - but she's the best payoff, hands-down.
I do shop for many of her clothes at better consignment shops or through eBay, I don't have time or energy for premium channels so what ever's on TV, that I don't fall asleep in front of is fine! The cell phone is basic - all I need is a way to connect to family and friends. I do spend on what child care center she attends as I feel that's too important for me not to. Beyond that, we eat most meals at home and so enjoy them together, go to the park rather than expensive theme parks - at this age feeding the ducks is better than anything!
We live simply by just being family and enjoying each other - that's the best part about being a Mommy.

It is so refreshing to hear you talk about living simply. I will take a good game of Jenga over a theme park anyday. I wish more people would calm down their kids schedules and not overbook them so much. Our most memorable moments will be ones we spend at home just sharing time together being silly and laughing.
Thanks for your reply it was quite motivating.

Ah...I wish I was like one of you!! Coupons yes...i definitely save and use them
The only way I am saving is by not doing online shopping. We stopped piling up un necessary stuff in the shopping carts when we go to the malls/stores like walmart/target. We always stick to our shopping list. And We eat less outside.
