Hello!! My 7week old son is up every day at 6:45 and stays away all day until 8 or so. How go I get him to take a nap? Being a single mom I have things to do in the day like wash bottles, cloths and daily cleaning. He's bright eyed and alert all day...help.

HAve you tried laying him in the crib to sooth himself asleep for nap time? How is he sleeping at night?

Try making sure the room he naps in is very dark- the blackout draperies I bought were worth their weight in gold!

yay! another mom who feels my struggle! my daughter was the same way - and still is at seven months. she does okay at night, but i'm lucky if i can get a half hour nap out of her during the day. we've tried everything. letting her scream, walking, singing, vibrating bouncy chair, car ride, giving her a bottle, you name it. rocking seems to be the most successful method. i finally gave up on fighting her to go to sleep. when she was younger and not mobile, i stuck her in her bouncy chair or laid her on a blanket on the floor and let her watch me do all the housework. now that she's crawling, i put her in the pack n play with toys. yes, she fusses, but she's not in pain and she's safe and dang it, bottles won't wash themselves.

LOL I feel your pain. My girls are much older- they are soooo clingy! I plunk them in front of Elmo and run around my house like a madwoman trying to do all the chores I can fit in before I hear the ending credits of Sesame Street.

I'd have to say I had only a little resistance from my son when he was little.I had to put him in a dark room, with music box going,as well as have him in his bassinet swing thing, and for the first 30min to an hr I had to be completely quiet!Tv on mute and everything even if it was 2 rooms away!I wouldn't move cuz he would somehow hear me and in the only way i know how to explain is he thought he was missing out on something so he'd stay awake. My son is 3 now and i have more resistance now then before :P my son was taking naps from the time he was 4 months old till now they just get shorter or longer depending on his mood, how busy we are and if he slept good or bad the night before.
