While I was pregnant I for some foolish reason thought that I might get away without getting strechmarks. I was using the coco butter for strechmarks and it was going good until about the last month and a half they started popping up all over the place. I really wasnt surprised to see them because I am very light complected and I already have a few on other areas of my body. But these are the worst strechmarks I have ever seen in my life. They are bright purple/pink and they start at the bottom of my belly and go a little above my belly button and they cover the whole thing and they also feel deep!! When I look at myself in the mirror I just cry because I dont think they will ever go away, they arent any lighter yet and my son is 2 months already.
What I am wondering is did anyone or does anyone have this problem and any solutions on how to make them lighter? Do they ever really lighten up or go away or am I going to have to learn to live with these disgusting marks forever???

I know exaclty what you mean, i didn't see any stretch marks until the last few weeks of my pregnancy, and they are pretty bad! My son will be 3 in June and there is no fading to the marks at all. They are pretty much permanent, from what my doc has told me. They used to bother me, but I've come to terms with the fact that they are one little thing that's bad, but I have so much good to say about being a mother to my wonderful little boy that I just overlook them.

My baby is almost 6 months old and my stretch marks still seem horrible to me. Admittedly they are getting better but it's still depressing. I've started using a product called BioOil and I saw results immediately. It's inexpensive (around $12) and you can get it at CVS and Walgreens. Good luck--I know how it feels!

Stretch marks and other skin "conditions" are usually hereditary. Talk to your mom. Does she have them? What did she do about it? I've studied skin care for years and I've never heard of a product that truly works for stretch marks. But, if I were in your situation, I'd try whatever was recommended (#3), or just learn to live with it. That's tough though.
