Ok so here is a little back round info. I am 23 and my husband and I have a 2 year old son and are trying for baby number 2, but I am 9 days late and pregnancy tests are coming up negative. I have talked to my doctor and she said that I may end up having a misscarriage and I don't know if I should talk to another doctor, she hasn't had me come in and doesn't seem to want me to. She said that it may be best to not know what is going on. I am just a little freaked out. So any helpful hints or advice on how to handle the situation would be great.
Thanks mommies.

if it was me i'd talk to another doctor. Why would you not want to know what is going on with your body? Maybe she meant it in a way like: you had a miscarriage so just wait til you start your cycle again, that way you won't have to deal with the pain and thought that you actually had a miscarriage. So, would you want to know that you had a miscarriage or not? maybe it's stress or hormonal. i'm not a doctor but if i'm completely stressed out i usually miss my period.

I don't know why a doctor would tell you something like that! That is so wrong! When I got pregnant for my son I had gotten pregnant at the end of my cycle so It took almost 10days for a test to become positive...Also while trying for #2 my cycles went crazy cause of the stress of trying,I was quite a bit late one time but it was stress that kept me from starting..It wasn't until I relaxed that I started..SO my suggestion would be to relax and try not to stress out over it and maybe consider switching to a doctor that has better advice:)

Wow, that was a harsh and thoughtless thing for your Dr. to say. It could be stress causing your missed period. If your are pregnant the tests coming up neg. doesn't necessarily mean you will have a miscarriage. I would definately see if you can find an OB/GYN who seems a little more understanding, and seems to care a little more about your situation. How many tests have you taken? It could be any number of things causing a missed monthly, and your Dr. should be looking into it not just shrugging and saying "oh, well."

Be careful because you brain can actually trick your body into thinking you are pregnant and cause you to skip a period and have all the symptoms but no baby, Its something with the hormones in your pituitary gland, in your brain.

What Cay said was absolutely right - you very well could be pregnant and the test just isn't picking up your hormones yet. Try a test with your first mornings pee. It'll give you the most accurate results.

If you misscarry within the first like 8 weeks or so they can't tell why so thats probably where her insensitivity comes from. My cousin had a positive pregnancy test and while she was waiting for her doctors appointment she started bleeding heavily. They told her that they couldn't be sure if she misscarried or if she never was pregnant and just got her period late.

Hang in there. I would change doctors though because if you are pregnant I really hope their practice wont be handling your OB stuff. They are way too insensitive!!!

Good Luck to you! I hope it works out for you!
