Has anyone had an ectopic pregnancy or know someone whose had one? I was diagnosed with an abnormal pregnacy about 2 weeks ago, a blighted ovum, is what the dr said. Well, i've started "expelling" or bleeding (not normally) some things about 1 week ago. she has now sent me for another round of blood work to check my hcg levels and depending on the results will send me to do another ultrasound to dble check everything down there. i am not too worried about it, but just wanted to get some feedback from anyone out there.

Thanks, mother of 2 lovely boys......

I'm twenty weeks pregnant with my first though it will be my second pregnancy. I misscarried with my first pregnancy as a result of a blighted ovum. a blighted ovum means there's a chromasomal abnormality and the child stops developing or never did develop. for me the embryo never developed and on the ultrasound there was just a gestational sac they said looked to have stopped developing at 6 weeks, I was supposed to be 11 weeks. I'm very sorry for you. it's a very hard thing to go through, I know I was devastated and blamed myself as though there were something I could have done to prevent it. Now being pregnant for the second time I constantly worry about the well being of my baby and in the first trimester I was so worried it would happen again, until I saw my baby on the screen at 12 weeks jumping around all over the place like a little mexican jumping bean. It was very releiving , though I still worry myself sick hard as I try not to. good luck!

I have an ectopic pregnancy right now. It is on my ovary. And actually, now it's a tumor and I have to have it removed in a couple of days. I knew I was pregnant back in January and I took a bunch of at home tests but they were always negative. So I went to the doctor and they thought I had a cyst. Then I had a US. That showed a partial fetus in a sac on my ovary. I was sad at first, but the thought of having a pregnancy outside of the uterus is very scary.
I think this happened to me because I have an IUD (Mirena). When I looked at the pamphlet it says that if you become pregnant while on Mirena then it's most likely an ectopic pregnancy.
Our situations are very different. I'm religious so I can lean on Jesus for help. I hope you get the help, comfort, and answers you need.
