I don't know what to do anymore, First off this is my first post and its outta complete desperation. I have a 3 and half year old who is usually very sweet a bit spoiled because she is the only child and its been all about her till now. I got a dog a few months back and at first things were okay...There is nothing wrong with the dog, she shows no signs of aggression to the child or anyone for that matter. It's the toddler..She's mean to her..BADLY..I've tried everything from time-outs to sending her to her room...I'm at the point where even though I got the animal for myself not the child I want to get rid of her. In my last effort attempt I'm gonna come here for advice to see what to do.
Simply the toddler is aggressive with the animal, locking her in the T.V. stand, dragging her around by the paw, won't let the animal sleep, pulls her loose skin on her back, covers her mouth and nose, headlocks the dog to "force" her to lay with her, ties things around her neck and drags her around...The dog puts up with it all and the moment I see it I take the dog away but it only lasts for a few moments before the toddler has the animal again and is doing something else cruel.
It's to a point where I've had to keep the animal locked up but that's mean to her since she's doing nothing wrong...
