I am a single father of a 23 month old daughter. My ex and I dont have the greatest communication due to our differences, which I am not wanting to get into. I have 50% custody and I love every second. My concern is our daughter is only away from one parent 2 or 3 days at a time. During that time however our daughter keeps coming back to me with diaper rashes, one to where she hurt too much to walk. When the mother drops her off she often tells me our daughter needs a bath. When she is with me I bathe her 1 to 2 times a day, everyday. Today she once again stated she needed a bath, I found another diaper rash developing, and I found fleas and flea eggs in her hair. I never wanted more than 50% because I beleive a child needs both parents. I know my ex loves her daughter and I dont want to take her away from my ex. But enough is enough. Should I call CPS, let it go? I have brought up the rashes before and it stopped happening for 2 visits but its now going again. I am at a loss.

1. your daughter may have lice - fleas do not like humans - they want a blood meal from animals, not humans. if your ex has an animal, it is possible that the animal has fleas. fleas can and will attach themselves to soft surfaces to find a new animal host. if you ex has a flea infestation - no matter how many times you eliminate your home of fleas, your daughter will continue to bring them in - i have provided a link about fleas and how to rid yourself and your ex's home of fleas - this is reliable information from my vet clinic -

2. keep a log of your daughter's uncleanliness and other information you may feel is not up to your standard of care from your ex.

also, log how you keep your daughter healthy and clean.
a. log every diaper change with the following information - time, dated, urine or feces or both, diaper rash cream
b. log every bath with the following information - time, date, length
c. log food and drink with the following information - time, date, what she ate
the more information you have about how you take care of you child, the better position you will be in.
3. if you feel that your daughter's care is not up to your expectations, call CPS and supply them with your log.

i am sorry you are going through this, and i hope some of this information will help.
