My 7 yr old son and I were just watching Scooby-doo: Monsters Unleashed on the family channel. It seemed fairly benign but at some point Shaggy drinks some potion that turns his body into that of a voluptuous woman. My son tells me now that that was soo cool and he would like to grow 'boobies'. I told him that that was pretend on Television (didn't get into any other discussions) and he can't grow them. I asked him why he wanted to and he said he likes them, it makes his penis grow when he sees them! I was taken aback (I am a single mom but he does have contact with his dad, but not much and I'm pretty sure they haven't had any discussions like this). I told him that seriously that when his penis grows is really a private matter...he said 'I know I don't say it at school, just at home' I then said it is really more private. Then I just had to shut up. (Mind you he also has a 5 year old sister). I have been noticing more overtly sexual like innuendo and behavior coming from him and am really trying to temper this without embarrassing him. Any advice? Is this normal at this age?
