Im 21 weeks pregnant and I fell today while trying to carry my nephew. I took the brunt of the impact on my hands and knees since i had to make sure my nephew didnt get hurt, but now I am having weird twinge like pains in the upper part of my stomach and light cramping pains in the lower part of my stomach. Should I wait and go to the doctor or should I go to the ER tonight?

I fell at 20 weeks and was fine, but if your having pains I would say go just to be safe. Don't be carrying your nephew anymore. Hope everything is okay.

I fell at...28 or 29 weeks. I was cramping so I went to the hospital. I was observed for four hours (standard procedure) and everything was fine. I probably wouldn't wait, just go...even if you feel fine, it is just a safety thing. And it will put your mind at ease.

Yep, I say it is a go. It is much better to be safe than sorry. I had a minor accident in my vehicle at 15 weeks and my OB wanted to see me right away. He monitired the babies heartbeat and told me what to watch for. Even though it was only minor, I was happy hearing the heartbeat and knowing everything was ok.

I too fell at 20 weeks - right down the stairs sideways I went. I'd say if you aren't bleeding everything is probably fine - but if you are having "new" pains I'd go just to be safe. I didn't have any pain after I fell.

How come when we get pregnant, we totally lose our balance?! That seems so counterproductive! Agh! I fell a few times down my stairs- my ankles just gave out! I never had any complications- just a ton of bruises.

I almost lost it yesterday. I was upstairs and squatted to pick up something off of the floor. As I rose up my head started to topple forward like it weighed a million lbs! I was definitely heading down the stairs face first!!! Thank goodness I caught my balance. Could you imagine! Now my husband wants to put a "stairs" ban on me. Its only spare bedrooms up there so he doesn't see my need to be up there. One more thing to add to my list of things I can't do ... walk upstairs in my house!
Its just my center of gravity is so off!
