Does anyone have any good lotions or moisturizers that don't burn. My children get dry skin in the winter and everything I put on seems to burn. Same with chapped lips. Even plain chapstick burns their lips. Any suggestions.

I like the plain Blistex and Eucerin lotion. However, if the Eucerin doesn't work for your kiddos, try Vanicream--it's what my allergist recommended for sensitive skin. Whatever you choose, make sure it's fragrance-free (not just unscented, because the masking fragrance can be irritating to skin, too). If they don't like the Blistex, try the vaseline lip stuff. Good luck!

I agree. Always check for that fragrance-free on the label. Many fragrances use alcohol and this is what causes that burning. Every lotion I buy is fragrance-free.

My 7mo has eczema. We use Gentle Naturals, it has baby Pooh on the bottle. It's a little pricey, but it works. We've been using the baby wash and the cream.

Try plain vaseline. It seems to work the best and it is cheap. I also have used Vanicream for my kids' eczema and it seems to work well. It is fragrance and dye free and very, very gentle.

I use Aveeno after every bath for my twins and for myself. One of my sons and I both have eczema and general dry skin. Aveeno is very gentle and absorbs quickly. I find that it really soothes my hands if they're dry or cracked especially during the dryer, colder months.

I like Burt's Bees Buttermilk lotion. Baby oil also works nicely, it comes in a cool gel now. Awesome!

I have eczema also and I had a hard time finding ANYTHING that felt like it really went deep into my skin and was waterproof that didn't make me feel greasey I heart the gold bond ultimate healing lotion. My skin often gets so dried out that it cracks open and this lotion deosn't bother me. ****Be careful I bought the shea butter one once and it didn't work nearly as good and if burned on the open skin***

Hi,
I use a lotion called Renew. It is amazing! I have never used a lotion like it and everyone I share it with, says the same thing. It can help people with dry skin, eczema, and other issues. Let me know if you would like to try some.
