I am 35 weeks now and I have been having the hardest time going to sleep lately. I cannot get comfortable and my spine gets sharp pains right in between my hip bones..I think the area is called the sacrum? anyway, I have surrounded myself with pillows, layed on my side, and stuck a pillow between my legs, but nothing is working. Last night was the worst. It felt as though my lower back was grinding together at the spine everytime I tried to shift pisitions. I finally gave up on sleep when I started to see daylight. I don't want to take any sleep aids since they make me groggy and I have a 3 year old to take care of too.

Walking has also become very difficult and sometimes excruciatingly painful in my vaginal area and hips so bad that I get tears in my eyes and have to lay down wherever I am or risk falling. Does anyone have any suggestions about anything that could help?

You could try sleeping in a recliner. The partially sitting up position might take some of the pressure off your lower back. Ask your OB if they can refer you to a physical therapist. With a referal your insurance should cover it, and the pain it most likely caused by your uterus pressing on a nerve. Physical therapy could help.

The pain in your vajajay is most likely your cervix thining out to get ready for birth. I don't know of anything to help that, I had the same problem though. Good luck, hope I helped.
