My son, Parker, is two months and he will only sleep in his swing or with me. When i finally do get him in a deep enough sleep to put him in his bassinet, he just wakes up an hour or so later. I'm afraid that sleeping in his swing will mess up his back and even though I love him in our bed, I don't want this to be a permanent sleeping arrangment. Any Advice?

I would try swaddling him. I didn't do it with my two boys, but I will try it with this 3rd one coming up. I always thought it was bogus, but this baby girl I babysit for was the same as your son. She would sleep in the swing, or in the crib for 30 minutes or less. I finally swaddled her one day, just to try it, and it was a miracle. She started taking naps up to 2 hours. Now that she's 6 months I don't do it, but it was a lifesaver those first couple of months I watched her.

Swaddling is great advice. It too helped my little one, although she still mostly slept only in her swing the first few months. I too worried about how much she relied on the swing, and if it was bad for her back.

My wonderful MIL suggested I let her lead the way on where she was willing to sleep though, and she eventually grew out of needing the swing. She never took to her bassinet, but luckily she did sleep well in her crib as long as she was swaddled nicely. We have never allowed our daughter to sleep in our bed for even a nap, a habit we never wanted to form.

I advise you let her sleep wherever she'll sleep, and enjoy the little bits of free time you can find. :)
