Here's a problem that I never heard about from anyone or any magazine when I was pregnant then had it happen to me. My milk dries up. I have had four children and each time about four months along my milk dries up. one day I have it the next day I don't! I have tried everything from Medications to Herbs to drinking tons of water and eating more calories. I have consulted Lactations Consultants, doctors, and Le Lache league. All to no avail. Has anyone ever had this problem? It's hard when people give me dirty looks or lectures about bottle feeding when I didn't get to choose how I feed my children!

Yes, I have a friend who has the same problem. I am really upset to hear people tell her it's because she isn't trying hard enough, or just isn't committed enough. What a great way to crush a new mom's confidence. Thanks again, La Leche League.

First of all to all moms, no matter how you feed your baby, the fact that you are feeding your baby is what is most important. So forget the stares and the comments and do what works for you. As for the milk drying up, it seems there is only so much you can do. I am all for breastfeeding and nursed my daughter for over 13 months without using formula. My son is now 8 months and we are having to start supplementing because my milk is drying up. I have tried Fenugreek and pumping but it is not working. My biggest problem is he is not wanting the formula. So in conclusion, we do what we have to do as mothers and sometimes no matter how hard we try nothing works as planned. Good luck to all of us great moms for feedingour babies, breastmilk or formula.
