Hey everyone! If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it.

Two days ago, I gave my 3 year old daughter a bath and a few hours later it was bedtime, and we told her she needed to go potty. She has been potty trained since she was 2 1/2. When she went to go potty she said it burned and she refused to go. So the next morning we again tried to make her urinate and again she refused, so I took her to the local ER. They had to use an in and out catheter, and they tested it for any kind of infection and nothing showed up so they sent us home with no medication and really no information on what we could do to make her urinate.

It has now been almost 12 hours, it is 9 am, and she hasn't urinated since 12 pm of yesterday. I am really concerned that she will not go to the bathroom because she is "scared it will burn". Has anyone else had this problem and knows how to help? Thank you so much.

I have never dealt with that specific problem, but if she has to pee she will eventually go whether she wants to or not.

It could be her way of exerting control, or she could be approaching a significant brain development stage. Often kids 'regress' just before they experience a significant development - its called a Touch Point.
