So I was browsing around for a costume. I couldn’t help but notice all these....stripper type of costumes. Like the "sexy Bo Peep, sexy Dorothy, sexy Red Riding Hood" I remember when dressing up was about looking scary and bloody and stuff like that, not getting dresses like your going to shoot a porno :o Well that’s just me, it seems that the main focus for woman on everything now is to have your boobs bursting out of what ever your wearing, how sad :(

I Totally Agree. When We Were Looking At Halloween Stuff Last Weekend & Debating On Having A Halloween Party Those Are The Only Costumes For Women. It Is Ridiculous. Boobs, Boobs, & Short Skirts. Every Single Costume For Women Began W/ "sexy". I Hate To Sound "old School" B/c I Am Only 21, But Good Lord It Is Bad. I Dred The Days Of Being A Mother To A Teen Daughter Who Will Be Wanting To Dress Up. At The Rate Things Are Going It Gets Worse & Worse Every Year!! Who Knows What They Will Be Wearing(if Anything) By The Time We Have Kids That Age!!

I’m only 22, but I think its just getting out of hand, like you said each year they get shorter and more revealing. I have a baby girl and I am like you also said wondering what it is going to be like when she's a teen. Last year I went to south beach for Halloween, I saw this girl that just wrapped her nipples and privates with a yellow caution tape...that was her costume :/ Its not about being old fashioned APEMBERTON, its about morals and self respect and now and days that doesn’t seem to matter to girls. We have to raise our children to what we were taught so they won’t loose those morals.

So True!! My Fiance & I Have Always Talked About How We Want Kids, But The World Is Out Of Control!! I Have Always Wanted Both Girls & Boys & I Will Be Happy & Greatful For Whatever We Get (if We Ever Get Pregnant), But It Seems Like It Is Almost More Dangerous For Girls. I Mean You Can't Even Go Shopping In The Middle Of The Day Without Being Super Careful!! My Fiance Won't Let Me Go Anywhere At Night W/o At Least Another Women W/ Me ( It Is Usually Him Though)!! Don't Get Me Wrong We Aren't Paranoid Freaks( Although This Post Is Begining To Sound This Way.lol), But I Am Very Aware Of My Surroundings When I Am Out Alone & Our Poor Daughter( If It Ever Happens) Will Never Be Going Out Alone!!

Some of those costumes can be really cute, but I never look good in them! I don't have much in the way of curves and they are usually outrageously priced. The last time I did anything for halloween was like, 3 years ago. I was a Greek goddess one year (I was in a sorority at the time). That was a very easy costume, just wrap a bed sheet around yourself and go! It also looks good on everyone. I bet that would look really good on you Disco! The most revealing costume I wore was a Playboy bunny costume. My sorority and a fraternity were putting on a "haunted Playboy mansion" skit at a club. It was a lot of fun. What are some costumes you guys have done in the past? I think my favorite was when I was a dead beauty queen! I found an old hideous dress at a thrift store for very cheap, and a crown and scepter and did the dead person makeup! Fun and inexpensive!

Let’s see, as an adult I’ve been a fallen angle, pixie, a dead person, a dead bride, and a gothic chick lol. Usually I like to use dark colors for Halloween and like to wear heavy dark make up. About the costume thing, they are not giving many choices to the women that are not ok with letting their boobs hang out. I’m not going to brag here but I have a fit body, but I am very conservative of it. The most skin I show is when I go to the beach.

Thats kewl and comfy :) Thats my big concern for this year, to be comfortable while we trick or treat with our little one :) I dont know at what age I will decide not to dress up anymore but I still like to.

Halloween night after the kids have gone to bed is the only appropriate place for most of those costumes. Last year my SO was an evil jester, I too wanted to be an evil jester to match him but I could only find "happy" jesters. So I took a cute black skirt that was barely above my knee and sewed some red fabric on half of it ( too match his red and black theme) wore some red and black arm warmers, red and black striped stockings, black shoes and paired it with a form fitting black v-neck t-shirt. I braided some red ribbon into my hair pig tail style. White face paint and some red lipstick and I was an Evil Jester too! It was kinda punk, goth, sexy without being a slut. The shirt was tight without being revealing and that sexed it up alittle bit. The skirt was long enough to be covered but not matronly. So you can incorporate alittle sexy without looking like a train-wreck! We dressed this way to a costume birthday party that had both friends and relatives ie our parents and grandparents.

I think it's about personal preference, or the type of party you are attending. I have three costumes that I alternate between...a scary one, a cute one, and a sexy one. I wear the sexy one if we are going to a party that is adults only, and would NEVER wear it around children. But.....just because I'm 47 and a mother of three, that doesn't mean I've stopped being a sexy woman, and sometimes it's nice to be able to show that side as well!!! And I don't know where you folks are shopping, but in our town, the costume shop has a lot more "regular" costumes than the sexy ones....there are rows and rows of pirates, witches, vampires, ghouls, superheroes, etc....and ONE ROW of the sexy costumes.

Aw that’s great! I wish we had more variety here :( Honest to god all they have here are the sexy ones ONLY. I really don’t see myself wearing that to trick or treat with my baby and husband at 8pm lol

Disco I think its our location. I live in Jersey very close to major cities Philadelphia and New York and everything here is "OVER SEXED" You living in Miami probably feel the same way. I'm having a girl ( my first) and the other day I was in walmart walking through the baby stuff and you could almost hear the lullabies playing in my head as I looked at little girl clothes - then I was leaving and passed through the junior department and THERE IT WAS the two peice size small army camo bikini with a pink skull and crossbones ON THE BUTT!!!!!!!! I'd say designed for a 8-10 year old. ON HER BUTT ... REALLY! My lullabies came crashing down and I thought oh heaven what am I getting into - because my daughter will NOT be advertising on her BUTT!
(Especially at 8)

I like to be silly innocuous things like a deer or an ice cube. THis year though...I'm going to be Orville Deadenbacher. You know...the undead popcorn icon. He's going to have bloodied popcorn chains like Marley's ghost.
