Abdominal Pregnancy?

I was watching an episode of House (FOX) and the doctors were treating a women who was caring her baby in her abdomen! Its very rare, 1 out of 100,000 pregnancies, but the point is a women can carry her baby to full term. I think its amazing and was wondering if anyone knows someone who's experienced an abdominal pregnancy (not ectopic).

The point is wrong. You can't carry a baby full term out of the uterus. Not only will whatever organ the placenta attaches itself to fail under the extreme pressure, but the removal of the baby is most likely deadly- as bleeding oftentimes can't be stopped. It was a VERY risky surgery taking the fetus off, and they were talking about planting it in the uterus to save the baby. A TV show doesn't really explore all that. I would be amazed if you found anyone who lived through the entire 9 mos, and had a healthy baby.

While it is highly unlikely that an abdominal oregnancy will go full term, there have been 2 cases in the last year or so where healthy babies were born at or near full term from an abdominal pregnancy.

I believe there was a little girl born in may and then a boy born sometime prior to that.
