a few months ago my grandma passed away. my mom and i had no idea how to explain dying to my four year old, so we have just been "wingin' it". not the best idea. it's been hard and sometimes rather akward to answer the questions she has had about death and dying, but we've managed.
some new questions have come up regarding the physical presence of my grandmas body, and being that she was cremated, i have no idea how to even begin to explain that to my daughter. can anyone help??? im at a loss, and need some help before im stuck in a sticky situation!!!

At this age she has a very limited basic understanding of death, but she can't fully understand that it means forever. Keep your explanations basic so as not to scare her. I wouldn't explain cremation. It may be too scary for a 4 year old. I would try a God took Grandma to heaven, and what Gad didn't take is in the urn.
