I'm only 19 years old and I've been pregnant three times now. I had my son right after my 17th birthday and as of the last six months, I've been trying again. I had a miscarriage two days after I discovered that I was pregnant back in August of this year and I just lost my second a few days ago. Now my doctor wants to start running tests to try to find an underlying cause to my miscarriages.
I'm just so confused. I'm young and my husband is not much older than I am. I stay active chasing around my two year old. I've had a child already. I don't drink, smoke or take drugs. I eat pretty healthy. Why does this happen to someone like myself? I thought since I have a son already that that meant that I wouldn't have trouble sustaining another pregnancy.
So to anyone who reads this, I'd love some feedback. I don't really have anywhere to turn. Why does this happen to so many women? What will these tests prove exactly? Will I ever be able to carry another child to term? Can I give my son a baby brother or sister?
Also, with the baby from my second miscarriage, my HCG levels were always within the normal range and we saw the heartbeat. The ultrasound tech told me that my baby lost his or her heartbeat and hadn't developed at all since my last appointment seven days before she did the ultrasound. How does a seemingly healthy pregnancy turn so wrong?
