Hello all! Glad to see I'm not alone here... I didn't know if anyone would be in a post for May of 09 because it is kind of early... I found out on the 7th that I am expecting baby #2 (my daughter Briana will be 10 (!) on the 24th this month). I had an U/S on the 11th and they stated I was 6 weeks 3 days (not 8, like they thought first) - so today I am 7 weeks and 1 day...

I didn't find out I was pregnant with my daughter until I was 4 months along (I was young and not regular) so knowing about it so early, I am afraid it will feel like forever until the baby comes...

I hope to come on here from time to time to read about other moms who are due around the same time

Welcome dlsmith0812 and brismommy!!
I am glad I am not the only one in May I was afarid I was going to be at least for a little bit...lol. Congrads on your pregnancies !! I look forward to us going threw this process together even though we are veterns..lol. So what are you guys hoping for?? BOY or GIRL??? FOr us we are hoping for a boy but not holding my breathe with us having 3 girls already. But think it would be cool if we added a boy to the mix even though he would be out numbered!!! As long as the baby is health that is what matters. I get gestional diabetes when pregnant and insulin dependant it not that bad .... since been threw before and know what to do... And I get induced early too so I knowwhat day I will ahve the baby!!!Ha ha well hope to hear from you all soon

Hi all gald to see everyone is doing good and new moms have joined the group...WELCOME!! Ok for me things are kinda.... well I guess.... numb. I spent the afternoon @ the ER. I am 8 weeks along and possible miscarring....:(
I went to my fisrt dr apt sept. 15 - had a u/s to confirm DD (May 5) but also found with the baby my yolk sack is 2-3 times the size it should be ,but baby had nice strong heart beat and placenta in a good place -but he said sincethe size of the yolk sack is big I could have a miscarriage, but he wasn't sure on the % of it and stuff and said it could be one of those things. I wasn't too worried about cause there is always a chance of miscarriage in 1st trimester. Plus I never had one ( a m/c) and other pregnancies were fine( i have 3 dd) But it didn't hit me or worry me till today. I went to the bathroom to get ready for work and went potty and omg there was blood I freaked called DH in to show ( i know gross) called work to let them know i wouldn't be in. The straight to ER. Was there for like 5 hours.Got all the fun work ups.. blood drawn,IV,pee in cup (LOL :)) plevic, and U/S. The good news baby still has heartbeat and so far looking good, no blood in were baby is dr said. and at hospital the bleeding started to subside. and cervix is still closed. So it is up in the air. The dr calls it a "threated miscarriage" and it could go either way at this point for us to keep our fingers crossed. So I am on bed rest for the next 3 days So I am hoping for the best. That it is just my baby scaring me.... and he/she will be alright. As of right now I am not bleeding am bored sitting and it is hard for the kids at least DH is home to help for today. Please pray for me and the baby. I know if it does happen I can't stop it and it will be hard but it happens for a reason I just hope it doesn't . I have to call my ob tomorrow and see where we go from here. I will keep you all posted on what happens please keep the baby in your prayers . Thank you

MysticWingzz, I know your fears all to well. As I've miscarried 6 times and not one of them was easy! My thoughts and prayers are with you and your baby! I only hope for the best for both of you! I too fear this pregnancy..thank god all has gone well so far. but it's next week for me that I miscarry if I am going to! So good luck to you! I know bed rest sucks! But consider it a break! A not so much fun break! And try not to stress too much!

Thank youall for your thoughts and prayers. So far today still no bleeding :) YEAH :) Talk to ob said to keep doing what I am doing . Easier said than done....+++smirk+++ But I have been testing my sugar levels.. ( was gestional last 2 pregnancies) and I have to start on insulin again already.....+++UUGGHH++ not too bad am used to it and knew it was coming.... it just so expensive... TodayI am feeling more optimistic about me carring baby to term... I wil just feel better after the 12th week is here and gone... and getto heart heatbeat @ dr office and not just in ultra sound you know what I mean ..I just keep on putting my hand on my tummy and talking to the baby...."saying hang in there little one we can get threw this... you just be strong like your mommy and sisters" I just so happy after I go to the bathroom and see no more blood or spotting. But will ahve to go back to work soon and am scared to but can't aford not to work.... I just keep praying to god and talking to him and baby and am t rying to be up beat and just put it in his hands , but hard still not to worry. Thanks again you all for your love and support. I wish you all a health pregnancy and DLS my thought are with you too that you don't miscarry. you and baby are in my thoughts
Love to all the other mommy's here in our May group

Hello All,
I was excited to see this posting for May 09er's! DH and I are expecting #1 May 18th, 09. Went in for blood tests, etc. yesterday and back next Tuesday for first Dr.'s appt.
We're obviously excited and nervous as this is our first. We are 6 weeks-have felt great except for extreme tiredness. No morning sickness or vomiting; just sleepy! I can handle tired-I could not handle being ill!
I'm excited to "meet" you all and gather some great advice from you repeat mommies!

IllAdvised you will be fine! Having a baby is exciting and scary all wrapped in to one. So first of all congradulations! I am certain that you will find pregnancy isn't as bad as everyone says. Oh yes take it from me, I have had 4, a set of twins. 3 of my kids were preemie and I battled with preterm labor as early as 20 weeks. No good. Survival isn't till perhaps at least 28 and then it's grim. But all in all it's fun! The first trimester isn't always the greatest. A hundred trips to the bathroom, that horriable nauseating feeling, or throwing up, and being soo tired you feel worthless. Just remeber if you do nothing else all day you can feel good knowing you are growing a baby! By the time the second trimester hits you start to feel human again, the trips to the bathroom aren't so many... and you begin to really enjoy being pregnant. So good luck...ask any questions. Most of us have all been there at some point. This is baby 5 for me... after miscarring 6 times. So ask away.

Take care and again Congradulations!

Crazycarla congradulations on your twins. I also have twins. Mine are 6 1/2 years old now. We found out Valentines Day of 2002 that they were twins. It is soo exciting to have them. Yea the first year is kinda rough but it's fun. When mine were born, my oldest was 18 months old. Good luck to you!

Hi Mystic,
I am currently experiencing a rough first trimester. This is my first pregnancy, so I am so unsure what is normal from what is not. I've been spotting on and off for two weeks and pray everyday that I'll hold out to that 12 week mark.

Last week, the bleeding became heavy and I was sure I had a miscarraige. So when I saw the little heart beat in the sonogram, I nearly broke down in tears. For now, everything is okay and I feel more confident with each passing day. I just found out my due date, which is May 13!

I'll be sure to include you in my prayers for a healthy baby and delivery.

Hi I am sorry you are having a rough first trimester too. This is my 4th pregnancy and it is still had and scary to me. I have still been spotting every day I had to make another trip to the ER last nightafter I got home from work I bleed threw underwaer pants and went to bathroom and there was clots!!! I freaked But at Er they checiked me and my cervix was clsoed and long ( which we want and a very good thing ) cause it would have to open to miscarry !!! So I was happy about that. I haven't had another ultrassound cause had one a week ago. Just took blood and descharged me I have to go back to my Dr tomorrow to get more blood work to make sure my numbers are going up !!!! MAN I hope they are.The ER dr put me onlight duty no lifting over 5 # and no pushing and pulling. Yeah easier said than done with 3 DD!!!! LOL DH was home today to help but tomorrow he go back to work. IF I go back is up th my dr and I have mixed feelings about that casue my income is our major income. So I am just in wait mode till tomorrow to see what my Dr says. And plus at my work I work retail and they won't let me work light duty . I have to be able to do my own job funtions. ( i am a cashier) so If am kept on light duty I won't be able to work> But I also don't want ot lose my baby. I am 9 weeks todayand I am just counting down to the 12th week to mark the end of 1st trimester cause taht is whe nmiscarriage rate goes down...
WELOCME ALL NEW COMERS !!
i wish you all a great and happy pregnancy.
My thoughts and prayer are with you Kookymm, andDLS ..h ow are you doing????
well will update you tomorrow on what Dr say

Hi all!! Mystic it's good to see you back! I was begining to wonder what was up with you!! It's good to see you are still doing ok despite your bleeding. If you need to stay home! I know it's hard because I was in the same boat with my kids. But you have to do what's best for your baby! But I know it's hard! I am doing good soo far. I go in for an ultrasound on Oct 8th. I don't have insurnace so I have to wait till then. So I will be 8 weeks then. So I hope all is well. My best friend was recently dx with Cancer, so I have taken her daughter. It's rough for me because she is soo doped up and she snapps and is meaner than heck! But anyway best of luck to all of you.

UUGGGHHHH !!!! I passed more clots today !!!! I have been wearing a pad earlier I coughed and felt blood( you know how when your on your period) and went to the bathroom to check it out. And some clots went into the toilet !!!!! I am not cramping. ( which is good) I have a call out to my dr since I am to go in and get blood work done to check numbers and maybe see if depends what he decides... I called twice so far but it is monday the busiest day for offices..... I am soo scared. I mean i worried in each pregnancy but nothing liek this!!!! I have never dealt with this !!!. Part on me say the baby will be fine we will make it and other doesn't think so........ I have such mixed feelings..IT seems the more i go with out cramping and just spotting that they say is normal and I can deal with that.... but it is this ...... :( every once in awhile a small gush and some clots are very scary... my dh says that with miscarriages there is alot of blood a big gush and cramping very painful ( he and his X wife had one) I never had. SO I am kinda freaking..... I want my baby to be okay..... I was so schocked to find out I was pregnant again cause we weren't trying we wante to wait a little awhile. But now I want MORE THAN ANYTHING TO KEEP THIS BABY !!!! you know what I mean???? I already know if I do miscarry weare going to try again..... but the fact is we both don't want to we want this baby to be okay!!!! Thnk you for letting me vent I just hope to hear from the DR some and get checked and hear everything is ok and my baby is strong!!!!! HUgz to all

Hi Mystic, hope your appt went ok. I know with all of my miscarriages it felt like the very begining of labor. I would get this horriable back ache for about 1-2 days before and then I would just bleed and clot like crazy! So hang in there. I know it sucks, but it should be a good sign if your not crampling!! Maybe??? Anyway hang in there. You are in my thoughts and prayer's that this works out well for you.

Take care and let us know what the dr. says!

Hey all-- Hope all of you out there are doing well! Mystic I am sorry you are still struggling! Hope all is going better for you. Don't give up though ok. You can do this, this one just didn't work out right. I lost mine too last Sunday. We moved and the stress from that was just too much. Even though I really didn't feel like I did all that much to help with the moving process I guess it ended up being enough. But I definatly will try again, and when you are ready you guys should too if you want to. I have always believed that you only have a loss if you giv up and don't keep tryin. I lost 7 times... someday I am bound and determine to figuer out what keeps causing all these. I am working with my OB to determine a cause.....anyway enough about me....send me a post anytime... if you need to talk. But whatever you do...don't blam yourself! You did nothin wrong!

Hey Moms! Lets add another May baby to the mix. I am due 05/12/09. I have 1 daughter, 8yrs old and a step son 7yrs. Whew, it is fun at my house, LOL. I am glad to see some woman that I can share with. Has anyone started feeling their uterus stretching? I went to dr a few days ago and Thank God all is well. I hope all goes well for you all!

I'm due May 26th with my first. I'm super excited, but since everything is new to me it can be a bit overwhelming. My doctor had me do bloodwork this week because I have a cyst on my right ovary that isn't shrinking the way it should. The bloodwork came back normal - but it was still a bit stressful! I have had some twinges in my sides that feel a bit like growing pains, so I guess that I am feeling my uterus stretching - and I feel like sleeping on my stomach is starting to be increasingly uncomfortable (although I dont know if thats all in my head or not!).

Looking forward to chatting with other ladies who are going to be experiencing things right around when I do!

Hey Fuzzy! thanks for the response. I saw that a couple of other may moms had miscarried - I'm so sorry to hear that. I had a miscarriage before my last son was born and it was devastating - I'm feeling good about this one, though - I had an ultrasound at 8.5 weeks and everything looked great. We're definitely going to find out the sex - I want to know at exactly 16 weeks - I can't stand the suspense!
I was very very sick also - my doc gave me zofran which is a crazy strong anti-nausea drug that helped a lot, and by that I mean I was only throwing up once a day instead of 3 or 4 times. I'm feeling a bit better now, though, since I'm closing in on the end of the first trimester. This is most definitely the last one for me too - I love babies and I love being a mom but being pregnant is not my cup of tea.
Hope to talk to you soon - have a happy pregnant day and good luck at your appt!

Hey moms! I am sorry to hear of the losses. I can't imagine how difficult that is for you. I went through a scare with this one, I had low HCG levels at first b/c it was just to early to tell so they thought I had an early miscarraige and it was tough. So, sorry.
I am 12 weeks also, and due 05/12/08/ Melissa, looks like you and I are REAL close with due dates. Feel free to email me at mccalls2006@verizon.net. Also, any other moms out there that want to keep in close connection while we travel through the great 40 week adventure. I am going for 12 week u/s tomorrow, I am high risk so I have had several but everyone of them is a comfort to know that everything is going well. This is #2 for me, mad sickness the 1st time and I have been blessed this go around. I tell you crackers before I even hit the floor in the morning did wonders for me. Good luck!

The coolest thing happened yesterday! I went for my u/s and they needed to get the baby in a better position so they could get the accurate measurements. So, they shook my tummy up a little and the baby started moving, I could see it. This is #2 and I never saw anything like this w/ DD. So, I was just amazed at being able to see my little baby moving insude if me, he/she were kicking legs and arms were moving. It was awesome! We are all so blessed to have this little ones growing inside of us.

I am new to this thread. First I want to say how sorry I am to read about the loss of babies. I just had a miscarriage in March of this year. In September I found out I was pregnant again. I am due May 8, 2009. This will be my second live birth if I carry to term. Hopefully now that I am in my second trimester I will. My son was 4 yesterday. I am looking forward to reading each of your posts.

We were actually going to start trying next year around that time but looks like we will have a new addition instead. I noticed that a lot of your are not first timers and wanted to know what helps when trying to sleep at night. I know your not suppose to sleep on your stomach or your back but i've never slept any other way. Please help thanks

Hi everyone. I am so glad I found you!!! I feel a little better already. My due date is May 10th and I am already nervous about my little bundle of joy. I will be turning 30 in December and never thought that I would be a mother. I thought I met the man of my dreams and suddenly changed my mind. My first pregnancy (earlier this year) ended in a miscarriage requiring me to have a d&c procedure. We were devastated. About a month and a half later my husband decided he did not want to be married anymore and decided to leave me. Two weeks later I found out I was pregnant again. He wants to have nothing to do with the child and pleaded with me to terminate the pregnancy. Needless to say, I told him I was keeping the baby and he could sign over parental right, which he quickly decided to do. I know I made the right decision by keeping my baby, but I'm alone and have no idea how to raise a baby. I am excited to see so many veteran mothers because I am going to need all the help I can get.

Hey guys!Glad to see more moms join the group:)!Melinda_1227 I wouldn't worry about not being sick anymore(Lucky I'd say!) Usually after the first trimester alot of symptoms start going away..Except me..I am still taking diclectin(Anti-nausea)because I was throwing up to much and I have a 18month old to look after so I went to the dr for those pills to help.I would only start to worry if there was some bleeding.
Janae25,I am so there with you belly sleeper all the way!My dr said that you can sleep on your tummy until it causes you some discomfort..which is starting for me now So what I do is I bought a body pillow and I tuck it under the belly alittle a put it between my legs and pretty much hug it all night so it kinda had the same feeling of sleeping on your stomach..I hope this helps you:)
Msb30,Congrats on your pregnancy,I admire your strenght...There alot of great moms on these boards to answer just about anything you have to ask and there is always someone who will just listen! My son's B-day is the 9th of may,Close to you EDD:)I don't know if you are a believer in zodiac but I can tell you my son he's a taurus and very bull headed..LOL
My dr.appointment went well!Heart beat was 155-160bmp good and strong,I'm excited she's sending me for my routine ultrasound the week before christmas so I will know the sex for the holidays..I can't wait to find out.Well I hope all of you moms are doing alright and I hope to get to know you guys better through our pregnancies:)

MSB30, sorry to hear of all the hard times, but have faith in your decision, all will work out. My EDD is 05/12/09 so it looks like you, me, and Fuzzy are real close. Fuzzy, I will be also finding out the sex around Christmas but I have to wait until 16 week check up on 12/01/08 to schedule it. I have been lucky this time, not much morning sickness and I am sorry for those that had that problem. Janae25, congrats also. Its great that we will have each other to lean on through our journey. Good luck and keep in touch. Jen

zcitedmom, thanks for the words of encouragement. Does anyone have any suggestions on good books to read? I have never been around babies and do not know the first thing about them. Everyone around me keeps saying, "Oh, don't worry about it; it will come to you." While I think that is partly true I would still like to read up on the subject. Why reinvent the wheel when you don't have to : )

MSB30: "What to expect when you are expecting" was my read on the first pregnancy. I have a book from my dr office this time but I haven't done much reading. Mostly when I am curious about stuff I search the subject on line. I am not a big reader but I need to get better at that :) It really will come to you, that mom instinct kicks in.... I feel like a NEW mom all over again because my DD is 8, so I have A LOT to relearn. But I think once the new baby gets here, a lot of it will come back to me. Fuzzy, you have a 18 month old also, right? Is the morning sickness gone for good now? Has anyone had any "flutters" yet? I think I have but not long enough to really have a second to realize it and enjoy it. So Moms, has anyone thought of names yet? Me, I have mentioned a few to the DH but nothing solid, I really want to wait and see the sex before I focus to much on that. Anyway, take care! If you all want to exchange personal email addresses, let me know. Jen

Hey!Yeah I do have an 18 month old Logan,He been keeping me busy these days;)Well I'd like to say the sickness is gone for good but today I wasn't feeling so great so I guess not!Oh,well this is our last for sure no matter what so I'm trying to enjoy it the most I can (It hasn't been that easy) My fiancee owns a fisherie and this time of year is the busiest so he's been gone alot ,It makes it harder on me cause I'm alone with Logan and the 2 dogs!Hopefully things will start slowing down at the shop soon so he can be more helpful at home:) On the name subject we have only agreed on a girls name "Lexie" I really like it and I think it's cute...What do you think? For a boy the only name we kinda like is Troy but I'm still kinda on the fence...What do you think? I have felt some flutters but like you only a little and it takes a minute to realize that's what it was...lol!The other day though I was driving and I could feel something moving along my seat belt It was kinda wierd but I remembered feeling that with Logan:) How are you doing so far? It's nice having someone to talk to during this! msb30,I forgot to add books...LOL this pregnant brain is going to drive me crazy! What to expect is a great collection.."the when your expecting"Is great for all the pregnancy questions you could think of and the what to expect the first year is great for all the stages and milestones your baby will reach and when to expect them:) Xcitedmom is right though alot of time after you have the baby alot of you maternal instinct will kick in but just in case you are still curious as to what to expect..I found those books to be very helpful..I'm in the toddler years and I still find the books to be useful!Good Luck and remember when the books can't help you;YOu have a whole whack of moms and dads at you finger tips just waiting to help or give advice:)

Hi to all the moms. It's been a little over a week since my last post. I agree the "What to expect ..." collection really helped me the first time around. I felt a lot mor confident at the end of reading them. And the mom instinct does gradually kick in. I thinking I am begining to feel little flutters but it is hard to tell. When I was pregnant with my son I knew for sure that he was kicking and moving but I guess with the uterus being more relaxed it must be harder to feel. I can't wait for those first hard kicks to be felt. DH and I have decided on names for a girl and a boy tho I am praying for a girl. If it is a girl it will be Surrette(SIR-ray) or Zion for a boy. I go to the Ob on the 28th of this month hopefully for an US to find out the sex.

Fuzzy and Xcitedmom, thanks for the book suggestions. I look forward to reading them. I am finished with school the middle of December and I plan on reading everything I can get my hands on about pregnancy. I will definitely start with the "What to Expect" series. As the days pass I find myself beginning to fill with a little more excitement so I am anxious to read and learn as much as I can. I have not even started showing yet, but I'm sure once I do excitement will soon overtake worry and my nerves will begin to settle...at least that's what I am hoping for : )

Welcome Alyssa, we are glad to have you!

Hey Fuzzy,
Lexie is cute, my DD’s middle name is Alexis and we call her Allie for short. Yeah, it is hard doing it all alone. My Dh worked late a lot last week and I had to do it all..uurrgghh… but I got through it with the help of God! Don’t worry MSB30, don’t let that discourage you. I have 2 at home and my DD is 8 and step son is 7, so it’s a lot of responsibility. When they are little it is much easier and only having one is better. Troy is good, we were thinking Nattalie or Caleb but I am not set on either 100%. What do ya think about those names? I am doing well, no real issues. I got my NT results back and they were normal, Praise God! I am just excited for the next appt in Dec. It is so cool that our appt are a day away. What state are you from? I am from Va. MSB30, if you ever have any questions or concerns, please let us know we will help! AAWWW, Alyssa, how great we are due a day apart. Lets see who goes first.. LOL Welcome! And Congrats, glad you joined us! Hello, Lawpatoli29, glad you posted again. Let us know what the sex is. That is such an exciting time. Most of us have awhile before we can find that out. When are you due? Anyway, moms enough for now, keep in touch and good luck. Jen

Hey everybody!Glads to hear all is well :) I like both those names xcitedmom(CanI call you Jen since it`s shorter)those are 2 names that we can`t use cause there are already a couple on each side! It`s been alittle better the last few days cause Charles(Dfiancee)has been home and feeling extra helpful:)Getting all those before snow hits chores done!We are supposed to get snow tonight,I am kinda looking forward to it:)I actually live in New Brunswick,Canada; My mom`s side of the family are actually from Fitchburg,Mass but they moved too Canada when My mom was young...
Logan actually surprised me this weekend,WE were playing and he pointed down at my belly and said`baby``Hmm,he probably picked it up from us talking but I hadn`t talked to much about it yet,THe first tri-mester it`s Iffy and well I didn`t want to confuse him!But he`s sure knows what`s going on now!I honestly think he`s going to be fine,He is such a helpful boy already! CHarles says it`s cause I`m constantly picking up so It wasn`t a shock that Logan would go around pick up stuff all the time..He especially likes it when he can put it in the garbage..lolI hope it stays like that!Well anyways,I hope yo all continue feeling good and posting:)" more weeks until my next appointment! Oh and Lawpatolie29 my son Logan`s b-day is may 9th!Take care!

Sure fuzzy, Jen is fine, its weird calling each other by our log in names anyway. I am new to this posting thing. So, I am learning. LOL Yeah, we were suppose to get snow too but I didn't see anything. How about you? Awww, how cute that Logan is noticing. MY DD and step son (SS) also notices and my DD rubs my tummy and talks to the baby. I love that I hope they are that excepting when it gets here. I am sure Logan will enjoy helping out, it will really help him find his indepensence as mommy's helper and a big brother! Yea, I am looking forward to the next appt so I can hear the heart beat again. You know things are going well, but I could handle hearing that everyday. LOL Wow, Fuzzy, that is neat that your 2 kids will be born in May. Lawpatoli29, I didn't know they could tell the sex until at least 20 weeks. So, that is interesting that you will find out real soon. How old is your DS? Have you felt any movement? Fuzzy, what do you want g or b? I really don't care as long as its healthy! Talk to you all soon!

Only a few more weeks until I find out what I am having (December 8). That is the day before my 30th birthday so that is my birthday present to myself : ) I can't wait to find out because I feel like once I know the bonding process will begin.

Does anyone else have trouble with sleep? I get up every morning at 4am, take my dogs for a 5 mile jog, go to work and then straight to school. I usually don't get home until about 10pm so you would think that I would be able to go right to sleep. I am exhausted, but the moment I crawl into bed I am suddenly wide awake and when I finally do go to sleep I don't stay asleep very long. Is this normal? I mentioned it to my doctor and he did not say a whole lot so I am assuming it is a common complaint. We got side-tracked before he was able to tell me what to do to remedy the problem. Any suggestions?

Hey Everyone!and welcome to the group hilnkris! Well,we had our first (I'm sure of many)snow storms; We only got 5-10cm but it came down pretty hard and I live close to the ocean so the wind was crazy..To crazy to bring Logan out!Maybe tomorrow when it's cleared up..We even lost power for a few hours so it makes it even more a pain...Thank god we have a wood stove so we were still warm and toasty:) msb30, I'm still trying to wrap my head around 4 am dog jog..wow lol...I haven't had any problems sleeping..I probably sleep too much; But I have heard different techniques to help you sleep better..When you get home do you give your-self wind down time before you try to go to bed??? Long bath,Watch t.v or read a book?? If you don't then you can try doing that Another thing is if you have been laying in bed for 15min and still haven't fallen asleep get up go to another room and do something relaxing..read or listen to music, you can watch t.v but I find it hard cause I can't start a show without finishing it! Also if your laying in bed thinking of something you wanted to do or thinking of something you should of done it's best to just get up and do it cause it will also keep you up.I hope these suggestions help but if they don't try posting in the general pregnancy part or mom to mom maybe someone else will have more ideas!I bet your excited to find out so am I..Are you hoping for a girl or boy?As long as all is well I'm sure is the most important!
Jen, Yup I have something with getting pregnant in August..lol It's so funny cause my fiancee is barely home...I definitely know the day We concieved there was only 1 day the entire month it could of been!I just hope I can get through Logan's birthday before I have the baby...Speaking of baby I have been feeling this baby move around a whole lot the past couple days It's the best feeling ever...I'm really feeling pregnant now:)As for the sex I am hoping for a girl because I'd like to have one of each and this is our last!but If i have another boy I will be equally happy as long as it's healthy!Well,I hope everyone continues to keep in touch!

Thanks Melissa. I can still get out and run because I am in Florida and it is usually only about 60 degrees here in the early mornings and it usually gets up to 75 during the day. It will get a little colder as the months go by, but never to the point of freezing. I cannot imagine dealing with all the snow. I'm sure it is because my only experience with snow is the snow skiing trips my mom used to take us on twice a year growing up, but I have always thought it would be great to live somewhere where it snowed. Of course, the excitment would probably wear off the first time I had to shovel a sidewalk or had to wait 30 minutes for my car to warm up : )

Thanks for the sleeping advice. I will try some of those things starting tonight. God knows, all I have to do is pull out one of my old accounting books and I would probably be asleep in 5 minutes : )

Hey, Hilnkris Welcome. I am in the boat with you! I have a 8yr old DD and I feel like I am starting over again also. I have said before it this post that I have a lot to re-learn LOL But I think it will come back to us quickly, once the baby arrives. Fuzzy, I have not felt as much movement as you have. I have been sick with allergies or a cold or sinus, something and its about to drive me crazy! I can't wait to feel better. Well, we have less than 2 weeks before our next check uo. YAY! I can't wait to see what that heartbeat is up to now. MSB30, you are going to find this weird but on my list of approved meds, tylenol PM was listed, I was shocked but you may want to call your dr office and ask b/c mine said it was ok. I am taking tylenol cold/sinus meds now fighting this mess I have :(
So, far, I have had no trouble sleeping. Maybe you are just wired and excited about baby that its hard to settle down. Do you have a preference for sex?Thats great for that excersice but i couldn't do it at 4am LOL We didn't get any snow in Va Fuzzy.Take care and we shall chat again! Jen

Hello to all. I am due May 1st, 2nd baby, third pregnancy; first pregnancy was miscarriage. I am excited to know what I am having. First ultrasound was amazing; to see the heart beat and the baby flutter its arms. Second ultrasound was amazing as well, but baby had it's face covered with both arms and legs crossed. The technician mentioned it looks like a girl, but she wasn't 100%. I will be going on Dec. 27th to a non-medical facility to do a 3D ultrasound. I had one done for my son and it was covered by insurance, this time around insurance does not cover but it's only $99. I'm able to share pics and video with family and friends, which is awesome. Hope everyone is enjoying their pregnancy and we only have a few months to go :)

I'll find out Jan. 8th if we're having a boy or a girl (I flip back and forth constantly over what I want to hear, so I don't think it really matters either way!). Hi xcitedmom (and everyone else!),

I can't believe how fast time seems to be flying by. Although I'm sure that the 3rd trimester will slow down as I start to get more uncomfortable.

We found out we're having a boy! And at our 21 week ultrasound we found out that he is healthy and BIG - they moved my due date up two weeks to May 11th because he was already measuring at 1 1/2 pounds.

So, here is the next question...have you all started swelling yet??? I have for sure. But at this point, the dr says just to keep an eye on it. It worries me b/c with my DD, I started way to early (swelling) and now I have a permanent edema in my left leg, that is HUGE all the time and there is nothing that can be done about it. So, on top of that, I am swelling more in feet, ankles, and hands. I also noticed my face is a little puffy too. Even though, they say its normal, it bothers me b/c I have been there done that....with my first, I had toxemia w/out high blood pressure and they didn't pick up on it until she was already underweight. She was born @ 37 weeks by ER C-section and was 4 lbs, now u see why I don't want this to go over looked.....Anyway, got any thoughts of comfort.....

MayMommy

I notice the swelling mostly in my fingers and my feet. I teach, and by the end of the day my feet are sore and I notice that my shoes feel tight. I'm trying to stay hydrated and keeping an eye on it in case it gets to be severe. I can see why you are nervous about it - it drives me crazy how many "normal" pregnancy symptoms are also "warning signs" for more serious problems. Its a bit like saying, "If your shoes feel tighter it is a perfectly normal symptom of being 6 months pregnant. OR - you could be developing toxemia and you need to get to your doctor immediately!" (As if I wasn't stressing enough as is!)

Since this is my first, I can't really offer you any words of advice. But it seems to me that with your experience with your daughter - you are totally prepared to make sure that what happened last time doesn't happen this time. You're communicating with your doctor about what your concerns are and I'm sure that s/he is keeping a close watch on it. Good luck!

Hey!I never had any swelling with my first, but with this pregnancy I have started to swell a little in the hands and feet.I have been trying to keep my feet elevated as much as possible(mostly in the evenings)and a friend of mine says she puts epsom salt in the tub but I haven't tried it yet??Lately, which I don't know if two and two go together but I have been having dizzy spells when i get up or bend down to fast...The Dr said everything was ok and that it was normal and suggested to get those nylons that they put on you before surgeries to help with circulation..I'm going to go get some very soon! And hope they help!Have any of you experienced this??Any remedies??
Talk about trouble sleeping...lol!I'm a total belly sleeper and of course that is impossible..my body pillow helps alot but I still toss and turn quite a bit..i can't seem to be comfortable anywheres anymore...It seems like the baby is huge already..Kicking all the time, and pushing on my ribs..aghh!Oh,Well like I keep saying still have 15 weeks to go and get bigger so I better suck it up now cause It's only going to get worst;)It's my last pregnancy and I really want to enjoy it as much as possible:)
Xcited,I hope that the swelling gets better! And everyone feels good!

Thanks Ladies for the additional info, its so great to be able to share! I did get a body pillow and it has helped..Thank GoD! Although my hubby seems to be getting pushed out of the bed. LOL. Last night I saw my belly moving and it was awesome! I tried to call my other 2 kids in the room, so they could feel it and see it but wouldn't you know it, the baby stopped moving....he is already stubborn LOL. In ref to the bp, I am starting to monitor it on my own along with the swelling, I will keep you all posted. Also, this is my last preg too so I want to enjoy it not stress over EVERYTHING.......Take Care

Hey Ann, welcome and congrats, OK ladies, some follow up from me. The swelling is getting worse but blood pressure is not to bad atleast from my monitoring but I am not even sure if I am doing it right, LOL. I called dr b/c my feet are burning that are so swollen, she sent me for venus dopler, it all looked ok, so tomorrow I see my maternal fetal dr and he will examine me and we will see where we are then. Until then, I am suppose to stay propped up, I'll do my best! Hope all is well for the rest of you.

Thanks MayMommy. I will let you know. I am working 1/2 day today. Nurse told me not to go in if I was swollen but I figure I can make it 1/2 day plus I want the dr to see what a full day can do to my feet. They are already swollen, but I am going to push through. Its really nice to have ppl listen and understand...Thanks to you all!

I can totally understand why you want to work the 1/2 day - the last thing you want is to go in after resting your feet and have the doctor tell you that everything is fine because s/he isn't seeing you after you've been on your feet for an extended period of time!

Hey, I'm liz nice to see all you guys here. I'm due may 29th with my third baby. I already have two girls at home, hannah(5), and madalynne(14m). We are having another baby girl. This one was a suprise (my dd was only 8 months and I was still nursing when I got pregnant). I'm excited but a little scared about having the two so close together. Any suggestions?

Hey everyone my name is Brittany, I am going to be a first-time mom to a little girl in May. Her due date is May 18th, my husband and I decided on naming her Amelia Isabella. Our families are sooo excited for her to get here, and so are we. She has been kicking up a storm latley letting us know she is getting ready. I am nervous of the whole birth issue. I am planning on going natural due to bad experiences with needles(had a spinal one time and my blood pressure dropped drastically and I was out of it for a week) My husband and I have been having a blast going to our childbirth classes and the tour of the hospital helped ease our worries a little. 13 weeks to go and lol my hubby is already beginning to pack my hospital bag!! :)

Hey everyone!Wow,alot of newcommers..Welcome and congrats on making it this far!I can't believe how fast this pregnancy is going! My dad got remarried this past weekend and my grandmother was telling everyone I was almost 6months...I got alot of jaw dropping cause of how big I am..Well thank god someone mentioned what my grandma was saying cause I'm almost 7 months now that's a whole extra month..lol!Excited,how are things going with the swelling??Hope you haven't had to take to much time off work..must be hard to keep your feet up at home with the other one,eh?This is your 2nd right?Dominique09,butt and hip pain oh,boy story of my life...I had an accident when I was younger and pregnancy brings back old wounds anyways,I actually see a chronic pain specialist..She helps alot, she's kinda between a physio and chiropractor.. A few tips she gave me is to always sleep with a pillow between my legs and my ankles(body pillow works) and to not cross my legs as much as possible and to always make sure when you are sitting or driving that your pelvis bone is straight that you aren't leaning on one side more than the other...That one really made me realize when I was driving i was putting alot of pressure on my right hip..No wonders I'd get out of my car to find i couldn't walk!Anyways hope these tips help:) I hope everyone continues too post and have happy healthy pregnancies:)!

Hey everyone! I am sooo pooped latley, seems I can't find enough energy to even do the dishes much less clean the whole house! I guess I wore my self out the other day finishing up the babies room! Does anyone else find themselves out of energy at this time of their pregancies? I am also a lot crankier with the hubby, everything he says or does just irritates me and I go off on him, I feel soo bad about it later and he takes me snappin at him very personally! He just dosen't get the whole mood swings being a first time dad. Any one else cranky or just me? Also with this lil one kicking me I am also not getting any sleep. I am constantly worrying about what I did in the past before I found out I was pregnant(horseback riding accidents, x-rays, ect), wondering if I am doing everything correctly right now, and if I am going to be a good mother! I am also tired of being useless, I can't help any projects my mother is doing(remolding her house) But don't get me wrong I am ready to have this baby in my arms for both my hubby and me to enjoy! Well off to try to fall asleep!

I asked my doctor about getting mirena for birth control after the baby is born. She said they can put it in right after the birth so you don't have to go in and get it later. Has any one heard of this before? Or has anyone tried mirena? It sounds so easy! Especially because i'm not good at remembering my pills. :)
