Do any of you have a toddler with diabetes? What made you suspect he/she might have diabetes in the first place?

If you suspect your toddler has diabetes, call the doctor right away. My friend figured it out in her 7 mo old, and she waited a week hoping it wasn't true. When she did take him to the doctor she was praised for recognizing it so early and bringing him in. They said often they have to be very evasive in trying to bring it under control, it was relatively easy to help her infant.
But, if your toddler is already diagnosed, then I wish you the best of luck. I have no real experience in it, other than to say my above mentioned frined loves the insulin pump for her son, and a co-worker loves it for herself.

I myself have diabetes, i am 18, ive had it for 9 years and am now almost 3 months along. If you notice anything different with breathing, urinating, or any kind of sickness take them to the doctor, obviously if you notice anything in general you should go to the doctor but it is a very hard and life threatening thing to deal with, not to scare you, but everything will be fine once you learn how to deal, i have the pump and i used to babysit a child who nobody else would because if his diabetes and he was very young, they become used to what has to happen very quickly, good luck!
